Not sure if this was posted yet...

On Oct 1st, Disney began rolling out High speed internet access in its hotel rooms at the Coronado Springs Resort. Over the next several months, Disney will introduce this service at many of it’s convention resorts as well as the Disney Vacation Club resorts. In addition, Disney will offer Wi-Fi (wireless high speed internet access) at select resorts as well.

Resorts that will have in room high speed internet are:
•Coronado Springs – Oct 1, 2003
•Yacht Club / Beach Club – Nov 4, 2003
•Grand Floridian – Dec 2, 2003
•Boardwalk Inn & Villas – Dec 30,2003
•Wilderness Lodge Villas – Feb 27, 2004
•Old Key West – April 2, 2004

The cost for in room access is $9.95 per day billed to your room. You will need a LAN (local area network) cable, and a suitable network card in your laptop in order to connect.

Wireless Access will be at the following resorts as well:

•Contemporary Resort (Front Desk area, Concierge sitting area, Outer Rim Bar, Convention center lobby, Pool area)

•Coronado Springs (Hotel lobby, Convention center lobby, Pool area, Francisco’s Lounge)

•Grand Floridian (1st floor lobby area including Tea Room, Convention Center lobby, 4th floor concierge sitting area)

•Yacht & Beach Club (Main Lobby area, concierge sitting area, convention center lobby, Stormalong Bay pool)

Wireless Internet requires a Wireless Interface Card. WIC’s are available for purchase in the resort’s business center.

Thanks for the info, Pete!! Now I just need to go buy a laptop!!;) :bounce:

I think someone said that it cost

4.95/hr or 9.95/day.

I just got home last night from GF Sugar Loaf and it was available in the lobby there, as well as the main building ( wireless access, free if you had a "card" or "chip" in your computer) I am not sure what kind of card you had to have, I was on dialup, WHAAA! But I did see several people using the free service. It is not in the rooms yet but in the lobby area :)

I need help!!! I'm a complete computer dummie, I only use my laptop for vacation planing and other fun stoff. I'm a dial-up with AOL. If I want to use the in room high speed or the wireless what do I need to do to my computer before I arrive at YC conc. I will arrive after Nov. 4th, so the concierge lounge should be set up by then. Thanks, Susan

I'm getting a PDA with a wireless access card for my birthday (Friday, yippee!) so I'll be bringing that. It'll be great for keeping in touch and sending quick snapshots.

We checked out of GF Big Pine Key yesterday and they were ripping up the carpet in all the floors on our end of the 2nd floor hallway to put it in. Bet they were going to be done by the end of the day so if you need wireless access, you might want to ask about Big Pine.

As it sounds like GF has their wireless access up and running ahead of schedule, does anyone know if Yacht Club is up and running as well? Would love to have wireless available while we're there! Thanks!

they are not getting "wireless access" in the buildings. They are wiring for the high speed access. The whole resort will go live at once not building by building.

Sorry if I misunderstood:confused: - the post above says that wireless acces will be available in some areas of some resorts. A later post said that people were using the wireless access at GF. I'm wondering if GF is the only place with wireless access up and running - or is it available anywhere else at this time. Or - did I read all of this wrong and there is no wireless access available?
Thanks again!
