Classes are taught by retired Air Force commissioned and non-commissioned officers. Classroom study includes the heritage of flight and navigation, aerospace vehicles, rocketry, propulsion, space travel, and aviation careers. Students are also introduced to military customs and courtesies, flag etiquette, basic drill and ceremonies, management, human relations, and communications. Many military-related field trips are included in the program. There is a community service component which helps instill a sense of civic pride and leadership. Additionally, weekly Air Force style uniform wear and grooming standards apply.
