Does WDW respond quickly to phenomena like High School Musical? Disney probably didn't expect to have such a huge hit on their hands, but now that they do, might they try to capitalize on that? Maybe something like having a cast member as grand marshal for a parade. Do they do this? If so, how would someone find out about it at the parks? I've got 3 DDs who probably would be just as excited to see Troy and Gabriella as Mickey and Minnie.

Thanks.

I don't know, but my dd would be thrilled. I almost think she'd rather see them than MICKEY & MINNIE!! It's absolutely amazing how crazy the kids are about this movie. Last I heard is that they're either doing a sequel or possibly a series on it. Of course that really is a topic for the rumors board, but as far as seeing the characters or promoting this at WDW may be a whole other story. But, you never know!!

My DD loves it too - in fact it was on tonight, and she was watching it. It is recorded on both our DVRs so she can watch it whenever. I don't know how many copies of it I made for her school friends, as well as copies of the soundtrack which I downloaded from Itunes and made CDs for them all! It is amazing how much of a hit it is (I have to admit the music is kind of catchy!)

I love Disney, but Disney Channel really is a mere shadow of its former self. I can't stand how Disney makes every child actor a singer!! :sad2: No offense, but not everyone walking gods green Earth needs a record deal!

I can see it as being a part of an MGM parade ... at least a medley of the songs with CM doing the dances.

Nooo!!!!! :scared:

:teeth: How sad am I ?? I watched it with my kids at 8p and then put them to bed and did the songs and dances again when it was on at 10p!!! I need help. The cast has been doing more publicity lately. They were on GMA 2 weeks ago and on the EE premeire show. My kids would love to see them live ( okay maybe me too, I am not really a stalker) . The music is great we also tivo'd it so we can watch whenever (even when the kids are in school)!!! :rotfl:

My two daughters love it too. I knew someone that took his kid to see the 6 cast members when they appeared on The Today Show a few weeks ago. He got my girls a baseball signed by the entire cast. :thumbsup2
On a side note. The one girl....Ashley Tisdale. Is from out town. When my older daughter and her friends found out. They went to the school library to see if they could find her picture in an old yearbook. :rotfl2:

And for anyone who doesn't know....The dvd of the movie will be out June 20th. With a extra goodies on it.

i totally agree with you on this one. it seems like every disney show star is a singer/actress now and its getting rediculous. every single lizzie mcquire star now has a singing contract, raven symone is now singing, chelsea from thats so raven is now singing...then many more. i agree with you.

I guess they all get singing contracts because most are really talented- not to mention Disney makes huge amounts of money.

We will be in Disney World on the 20th when the dvd comes out. Does anyone know where we could find it while there? My daughter is planning on taking a portable dvd player to be able to watch it on the way home!

I'm not hoping for it ... i'm just saying it could happen. Disney exec's could be on this board as we speak trying to get ideas. I say just put it out on DVD already so my kids won't bother me about watching it on school nights :furious: .

Heck, they can even make a single disc versiob with just the movie and a double disc verion with sing alon and dance along on the second disc.

There's your free marketing strategy Disney big cheeses.

I heard that part of the cast was the first to ride EE when it "officially" opened to the public on April 7. Haven't heard of any other apprearances as of today.

and were squeezing in one more TOT on Friday evening, the day EE opened. While standing in line waiting to board an elevator, there was a commotion about a group wanting to ride together. First they put them on an elevator, then moved them aside, etc. Then a CM in the plaid vest moved them over to an unoccupied elevator and they went down alone (?). We were the nallowed to board the next elevator, coming off at almost the same time as them. We all stopped to look at the photo, but my DD10 was standing with her jaw on the floor as this group went out a side door. I had noticed the kids, but imagine my surprise when she started blabbering, it's them! It was several CM's of the movie. I'm terrible with names, but it was the brother and a few others. I realized who they were after she pointed it out.

Just an FYI the DVD comes out May 23 not in June you can order it now online. :goodvibes
