High School Musical a "Phenomenon"

Both of my girls (11 & 6) are completely nuts over the music! I can see poor me buying tour tickets on ebay already.....strangly familiar as when Hilary Duff first went on tour ! hahahaha

And the band played on....

Jim Hill has an article up about High School Musical not only filming 2 sequels, but going on tour sometime later this year. They will, of course, make a CD & DVD of the tour and market that as well. So for those of you unable to get enough of this Musical, by Christmas you may just be sick of it. :santa:

I was hoping it was over. Now there is a Dance along on Disney Channel.

I swear, if my sister was any example, she would be in HSMA

High School Musical Anonymous I do have to admit, and I am a teen guy, the songs just have a rythm to them that make it hard not to get addicted

So, buy her the DVD (I assume you have a portable DVD player & headphones) and let her OD and get sick of it. There are worse things she could be addicted to...

Truely, I watched it & it wasn't bad (especially for a 'tween market).

So where do you find the dvd of it? I know my daughter and I did look and all we found was the sound track. If you know where to find it email me please. :cool1:

One girl started doing the dance moves in class and two of us lost it (one being me).
It's a good movie, but it's just a fad.

DVD won't be available until May.

It is airing again on the Disney Channel Friday night (tonight). We taped it and my girls have watched it over and over again!

Just came back from the mall with this cd we bought from the limited too. My dd and 5 of her friends are dancing and singing this song for their schools talent show. I can sing this song in my sleep!!!

Our Walmart had it marked down $7.99 yesterday. I had a $2 coupon off any Disney Channel CD, so I got it for $5.99!

The girls were excited because they have been wanting it, but I hadn't gotten around to buying it yet.

OK, I think I"m the only 40 something that likes it! I think it's thoroughly enjoyable and yes I have seen it 8 times! It's a nice block of time that I can spend with my 10 yo DD. She wants the sequel ASAP! :sunny:

I am somewhat surprised that--apparently--no one has mentioned the rumour that Disney is thinking of turning "High School Musical" into "High School Musical: the Series." which will then play on the Disney Channel.

My DD 5, loves this and loves Zac. LOL. We DVR'ed it the first time it aired in January and she has been addicted ever since. She has the CD and the songs downloaded in her Disney Princess MP3 player. (She calls it her Disney Ipod.) She's hooked... I know we will be buying the DVD, even though with a push of a button she can watch it. I guess there could be worse things.

I watched the movie again when it was on last Friday, the Sing-Along. I liked having the words up there while I try to sing the songs, lol.

You are not alone!! I'm 34 and I admit it I loved High School Musical as much as my 6 year old ds, they had the dance along version a week or so ago and you know we were up trying to learn the dances! :) My husband thinks I'm goofy but it's refreshing to see such a sweet show with good music to boot. On a side note, my cousin has 3 kids (ds, 9, ds-8, dd-6) and they play high school musical at home. They are coming to visit in June and my ds says "You know if we all want to be Troy, we'll have to draw straws, roll dice or do rock, paper, scissors." :rotfl2: :rotfl: Our babysitter last night had to watch it with ds (on Tivo) and she had only seen it once before. Seems Disney missed their intended target audience and wound up with a bunch of elementary aged kids and their parents as fans. :thumbsup2

This is not just something that tweens like! I just got done doing costumes for a show at our local High School and most of the kids liked it! Of course they were all chorus/theater kids, but even some of the Goth kids love it! And I'm talking about kids with tatoots, multi peircing, black nail polish, and the heavy eyeliner.. .
I liked it the first few times I saw it... now I just watch it when my 14yo DS and his friends have it on and I am in the same room... and I am close to 50 yo!
