Looking over the eating options for Magic Kingdom, it seems to be very lakcing compared to the other parks. all i can seem to find are counter service or kiddy restaurants that don't seem to cater for Adults. (I know MK doesn't serve alcohol because Walt was a fan of prohibition)

Are there any MK restaurants you would recommend for two adults?

Well, I wouldn't call any restaurant at WDW with the exception of V&A and a few at the Dolphin "high quality". You won't find any place within MK that will "cater" to adults, but they can all be just as fine for adults and families. if you want a place to cater to adults but close to the MK, you might want to try CA Grill at the CR, Kona at the Poly or a few like Narcoosees or definitely V&A at the GF. With teh exception of Kona, the rest are very adult oriented.

You will have to leave the MK and get to one of the monorail resorts. Best bets at MK is Crystal Palace.

If you are vacationing without kids, I'd recommend renting a car and getting off site. Orlando has some amazing restaurants.

MK does not have what you are looking for lol. I have yet to find a good counter service in this park. They are ok, but all cater to kids too.

If you are looking to spend the evening in MK and want a decent meal for adults, I would recommend taking the monorail to one of the resorts. You can go, have your meal, and return to the park very easily.

I second that. :thumbsup2

And if you have 3 hrs, take the monorail to EPCOT where there are so many better choices. You can usually get into Marakesh (sp?) without a ressie.

You'd need a hopper too if you're in the MK that day.

A little OT, but do we have any idea when the new Beauty & the Beast restaurant will open in the new castle they're building?
Hopefully that will be nice....

I would recommend walking to the Wave at the Contemporary. We have enjoyed every meal there. It is quiet...few tables filled, and as "adultish" as I have found at Disney. We actually liked it so much, we went a second time and were able to get in without an ADR (1 hour notice actuall by calling Disney Dining). I love the salads and DBF loved his ruben. Everything on the menu looked good there. The second time, we each got the exact same thing again. Then, after a relaxing lunch, you can walk back over to MK.

You can find good restaurants at the MK resorts, just a monorail or boat ride away. Ohana, Whispering Canyon, and Chef Mickey's are too loud, but I'd recommend any place else at Grand Floridian, Contemporary, or Wilderness Lodge.

Adding to this again lol

I know it's a bit of a pain to take time out to go to a hotel for dinner, but when it comes to the quality and atmosphere of the food in the parks versus the MK hotels(or any hotel) it is worth taking a bit of time and going to a restaurant outside of the park. You have alot of choices of good food at the hotels, instead of limited choices of 'eh' food. And at MK especially. Save eating in the parks for Epcot!

I agree with PP - "high quality" and "MK restaurants" don't exactly go hand-in-hand. Jumping on the monorail to resort restaurants would be worth your while. We haven't tried too many restaurants at the MK resorts yet (doing a ton on our HM), but have heard wonderful things. The only one we've tried so far is 'Ohana at the Poly, and would recommend it. Check out the restaurants at GF, Poly, and the Contemporary! Just a quick ride away and I believe you would be much more satisfied.

Good luck!:goodvibes

I didn't know Walt was a fan of prohibition. He liked a cocktail.

It is true. There are no high-quality adult oriented restaurants inside the Magic Kingdom. (I also wouldn't look for the new Be Our Guest restaurant to fit that bill.) The closest I can think of would be Liberty Tree Tavern (for lunch, not for dinner, and I'm not sure it would fit the definition of "high quality.")

To get that, you will have to go outside the park. The good news is there are several such restaurants in the monorail resorts.

I agree with others. Resort restaurants are way better IMO. I already recommended the Wave. We really like Kona too. The Grand Floridian Cafe is an option. Never been there but would like too. Those are all the TS lunch options at the monorail resorts. I would do any of those over MK restaurants. If in MK we prefer CRT and Crystal Palace. Have had good meals there. Never tried taking the boat to WL but that is another option.

I thought Liberty Tree Tavern was great for adults.

I agree with others that the resorts around MK have better choices, but if you really don't want to leave the MK, we prefer LTT. It's a family style meal, so you don't get choices per se, but I really prefer the family style meals over the buffets. Also maybe other's can chime in since we haven't eaten here, but maybe Tony's Town Square would fit the bill.
