Hi. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how far High Pointe World Resort is to the actual parking area at the disney theme parks. My boyfriend and are staying there because his mother has a timeshare, so it was pretty much free lodging for us for 7 days. I've heard terrible things about the place, but I guess you can't complain about free. ;)
I'm just wondering how long it should take to get to the parks each day.

Thanks for any info you can give me!

I posted this in your other thread, but... Bear with the repeating!

From what I can tell from maps, this resort is fairly close to where I stayed last year. (Orbit One Vacation Villas) It was very easy to get to the parks - just a few lights down 192 to the main road that goes straight to the MK. I'd say it took ten minutes tops to get to the MK lot. It was a lot closer than the All-Stars! I remember D-MGM being the first turnoff on that main road - less than 5 minutes to get there. I can't remember where EPCOT and TAK fell along the road.

It's really not a bad location - it's near Old Town and lots of food, too. I honestly don't remember how close it is to 192, but Orbit One was only of the highway about a block, and I couldn't hear the traffic at all!

And, as I said in the other thread, it's most likely where my husband and I will be staying in December, so I'll be sure to give you a full report on the quality! :teeth:

We are staying there in a couple of weeks- how was it?

It was nice - very good and easy to get to location. I stayed in a 2-bedroom suite - it had a dishwasher, jacuzzi tub and washer/dryer in the closet. The balcony was GREAT in the morning with my coffee, and the pool was nice. The continental breakfast was eh - it was easier just to stay in the room.

The one thing I didn't like - it's an all-smoking rooms resort. It didn't really bother me, but if DH had gone, he would have been upset. He said he could smell smoke on my clothes when I got back. :(

was the balcony screened in?
did you go to Tiki Liki at all?
how were the pools, and other activities?

Oh no. I'm extremely allergic to smoke. (ironically DBF smokes but never anywhere remotely close to me or in our house). Was it so bad that an allergic person should stay awaY?

Yes, the balcony was screened in.
I didn't go to Tiki Liki.
I went in the quieter pool (not the main one) and it was nice - nothing special, just your average heated hotel pool. Very nice as a morning pick-me-up! I didn't do any of the activities, but I did see some of the stuff around - basketball and whatnot. I was in the parks for the Friday night BBQ, so I didn't go to that. Plus I was there at a quieter time, so there wasn't a lot of people around to do activities with!

This was at Orbit One - as far as I've been able to find, High Point is more regular (some smoking, some non-smoking suites) rather than all-smoking. No worries!
