Ok.... so we went, we stayed and were not over impressed! An apology to all the HIFS lovers but I am not sure what all the hype is about.
Maybe I am spolit because we stay on-site most of the time but we have stayed off site at Summerfield Suites LBV and Quality Suites Maingate East and found both units there bigger than HIFS.
The interactive pool was in direct sunlight all day which means we couldn't use it due to dd photosensitivity from her seizure meds. We were suppose to have an accessible room and that didn't happen so there was no room for the wheelchair!
Quiet pool was nice and not overly crowded and breakfast was just ok.
Location was pretty good... about a 10 minute drive from DTD but getting out of the parking lot back onto 535 or 536 was hell at times.
I wouldn't want to stay with more than 4 people as you'd feel like a sardine!
This is just my opinion so don't flame me for it!

We stayed at HIFS last summer and also were not impressed. The room just didn't seem clean (found old clothes and cheerios under the bed) and the walkways were filled with bugs/spiderwebs. We had just come from 5 nights at BCV so maybe we were just spoiled. The pool was packed and the water just didn't seem that clean after swimming in SAB. I guess we were just missing that "Disney magic". Although it was definitely a $$ saver to stay there, I would not stay there again.

I have to say...we stayed here the first year it opened and we loved it. Stayed there another two summers and by the third summer it no longer felt the same. I remember that on our third visit, the first room they gave us was facing the parking lot, paint chipped off the front door, room was not as clean as we would have liked and I can't remember now but there were some other problems as well. We had to ask for another room which the front desk did oblige, but the HIFS did not have the same appeal to us that it had the first year and we wouldn't stay there again either...but to each his own, right?

Tigger2on, did you like Summerfield Suites better? I have heard it is a little bigger. We may consider this place next time. We have stayed at HIFS 2 times and we like it because of the pool and other kid activities (you are right though, the pool is in direct sun and won't work well with if you need to stay of of the sun). We also really like the location of the HIFS. We did feel a little crowded this last trip. There were five of us, 2 adults, 2 teens and my DS4. If the price goes up when it turns to a Nick Hotel, which sounds quite likely (we have always paid ent. rate of $89) we wil probably look for a new place. Would be interested in a comparison of the 2 from someone who as stayed at both.
