HIFS has New Competitor on RTE 192W???

HI ALL!

Is there new competition for HIFS on the other side of I -4?.

Was surfing the Choice Hotel Site and ran across The Comfort Suites Maingate 7888 W Irlo BronsonHwy Kissimee Hwy 192.

Comfort Suites states it's THE DRIVE IS 1 mile to AK, 3 miles to EPCOT, 3 miles MGM and 4 miles to MK.

Plus shuttle to ALL Parks, WDW, Universal, and Sea World.

Seems like more resturaunts and stores are near by vs HIFS.

Any info about this Comfort Suite hotel appreciated!

Not sure what you mean by new competition for HIFS? I checked out their website and it seems to be just a normal Comfort Suites.

I thought (from the pictures) that this one actually looked like a nicer Comfort Suites.

It was hard to find the Comfort Suites on Irlo Bronson rte 192 in the AAA book. page 681 AAA Florida Tour Book 2003 edition.

The location is too good to be true and free trans to all theme parks TOO.

Was looking for an alternate for HIFS in the event the popularity
of the Nick theme makes getting res in the future difficult.
Also we stayed up north in NH. a Comfort Inn and Suite and was impressed.
Looking over our old vacation notes i remember we were invited by HIFS to go to a time share owned by HIFS. it was going to be a sister resort HIFS in the same area on RTE192 west WDW.

We just returned from HIFS and LOVED IT! While driving down 192 a number of times, we commented on how we liked the fact that HIFS was NOT on 192 because of the traffic noise. HIFS's location was great because there wasn't as much traffic so it was quieter and it was easy to get in to and out of.

I agree with Brenna, I prefer HIFS's location to anything on 192. They have a carnival atmosphere that is a bit too much for me.

I do agree that the new Nick theme will make it hard to get a reservation and the rates may become ridiculous... let's just hope not.

I really hope that doesn't happen, but it's definitely a possibility. Have you seen their new 3 bedroom suites (they just combined two kidsuites and made some changes). They are almost $300 a night!!!

I'm afraid of the same thing . . . once the Nickelodeon theme is complete, their rates will skyrocket.

We were attracted to HIFS because of the combination of space and price. We figured the trade off of a less expensive, larger room off-site versus a more expensive, smaller room onsite was worth it. We thought it was a good value. But, if the rates become so high that they are comparable to on-site, that would take away from their attractiveness.

Although they'll still have the larger space, if the price is too high then I think a lot of people will opt to trade the space for the location. Lets face it, when going to WDW the three main factors when deciding where to stay are price, space, and location.

Let's hope they remember that once the changes are made.

My friends spent 1 night in a Comfort Inn in Orlando,and the next morning they called WDW and got rooms at AK for the rest of their visit!!!!!

Called HIFS for a Res. possiblilty and was quoted $102.50 with the Entertainment Card, but the agent made a point of telling me that the Suite Rack Rate was $250, never was told rack rate before.

I also got the $102 entertainment rate, for next August 2004.

For me, the Nickelodeon themes aren't a plus. I just don't really care. I am more interested in the other amenities.....the pools, the kids activities and free meals.

I have reservations for 2 weeks in June. I wonder what the construction will be like. I've never stayed at a hotel that was undergoing renovations. I hope this is not an issue. I would hope that it would be a logical progression - building by building and no guests will be put in the building currently under construction. The restaurants and lobby are another story however.

I'm not quite sure what all the fuss is about. There are plenty of wonderful suite hotels and rental homes within 5 miles of Disney property. I know that HIFS is very well liked, but its certainly not the only game in town.

Personally, I wouldn't consider paying over $100/nite for HIFS when I could rent a 3 bedroom house with private screened-in pool for less than that. Check out sites like www.vrbo.com and you'll see what's out there.

We leave Saturday and are staying in a 3-bedroom condo at Windsor Palms, 3 miles away. We'll have tons of space and amenities for $90/nite, and there are even cheaper units available - we picked the largest unit (1400 square feet).

I know what you're saying, Steve, but I think the reason the hotel suites are such a big draw is because of the services you receive in a hotel. I know when I'm on vacation, the last thing I want to do is make a bed, cook dinner, etc. Also, having a restaurant and children actitivies on the premises is another plus. I guess it has to do with everyone's personal preferences!
