Hidden Mickeys

Try this website to see where to locate lots of Hidden Mickeys too: http://www.hiddenmickeysguide.com/catalog.php?id=27. Since the book only lists some of the "confirmed" Hidden Mickeys, you will be limited in what you look for. But this website lists tons of them that are unconfirmed for DL, DCA, all 3 hotels and DTD, and even special holiday hidden Mickeys.

How many of you are aware that there are over 170 hidden mickeys throughout Disneyland and California Dreaming

Assume you meant "California Adventure"? :confused3

In any case, we enjoy hunting for HMs, and have located many of them.

The updated HM book comes out at the end of August!! Just in time for our trip!

I was very proud of myself for spotting a difficult to find one on the Monsters ride, without any help or hints! :goodvibes I try, but I seem to have trouble finding them. I do have the book, but I was trying to find them on my own first. My sister even found one in the preview center at DCA.

We have the old HM book and yes, we've found many of them with and without the help of that book. :)

There has been a reported Monsters Inc. Hidden Mickey (on someone's furry leg - is that the one you saw, Pink Budgie?), but I don't think that is one of the ones in the book or one that will be 'confirmed.' I think it is one of those fun ones that DLR does not want to confirm because they want us to find most of them on our own (in fact, I didn't check the website I posted the link for above to see if the Monsters HM is listed on there; I will have to do that!).

Ooh! I think I saw that one last week. I just got a small glimpse of it as we rode by and I wasn't sure if I had seen it or if i was just imagining things. I didn't see the other one PinkBudgie was talking about. I looked but you have to pass by at just the right time in order to see it.

I have not actually spotted it myself yet. I think it was either Jasmine (WazowskiLOVER) or Prettyprincessbelle (Courtney) who saw it not long ago and attempted to take a picture, but as you said, you have to pass by and catch it at just the right time and from the right vantage point.

I love Hidden Mickeys. I think it is so great that we can literally look for them anywhere throughout all of DLR (or WDW, if you go there) - literally from potted plants to dinner plates to spots on the ground to the deepest, darkest parts of rides - and that they kind of come in different shapes and forms, never looking exactly alike, and the search is endless. Disney was very clever by only confirming a handful of them, because it leaves so many more to discover on each trip. It never gets old when you find a really good one or when you have to look at every square inch of DLR to see if there are any. Whoever came up with the idea of Hidden Mickeys was a genius - in a corporation (Disney) that is already full of geniuses!

That one is different from the one I saw. I looked up the one I found in the book and it was there and worth 4 points!

I love hidden object games on the computer so looking for Hidden Mickeys is right up my alley. :thumbsup2

Okay, I just looked on the Hidden Mickey website that I mentioned earlier, and this is the link for the DCA portion of the Hidden Mickeys (the earlier link I posted refers to all of DL, all 3 hotels [I don't think I knew there was a PPH carpet Mickey and I have stayed there many times!] and DTD). This is the DCA-specific link: http://www.hiddenmickeysguide.com/catalog.php?id=69 is solely for DCA,

...And yes, I looked up the Hidden Mickey on the furry leg in Monsters, Inc. - and there is a photo of it!! That is what I love about the website - it shows pictures in most of the cases so you know exactly what to look for.

The one you were talking about does look like one to me. The ones that are of the headlights on the car are not, in my opinion because the circles are not connected.

The one I saw doesn't seem to be on that list. It would be very hard to take a pic of. In fact, if you did, it would be pure luck.

A couple years ago we went just to search for hidden mickeys and to do things we never done before, we found around 200 hidden mickeys!!!! They are Everywhere!! All around the whole Resort and DTD......

Oh, I didn't look at the headlights. I will have to go back and do that. I was specifically looking for the furry leg spot/HM, and even though it is not right in the center of the shot, I can see a Mickey shape there on the leg.

The fun thing is that, no matter what's on the website and what is in the book, there are probably Hidden Mickeys that appear and disappear over time, and ever-changing HM's, so we always have new things to look for that no one has spotted yet and that probably have not been documented anywhere yet. Even in the HMH, when it is first open in late September/early October, the snowdrift Hidden Mickey is not there. But when it gets closer to the holiday season and Christmas, suddenly it IS there! Very clever!

Oh, I didn't know that. That's neat! I only went on it after New Years. I guess September is too early for snow! :rotfl:

Okay, I just looked at the door/headlight one in the picture on the website, and it is hard to tell because the shot is small and distant and it would have to be an upside down HM. I suppose it could be a HM, or it could be those clever Imagineers and CM's putting in icons and shapes that look sort of like HM's but are not really HM's!!!!

There are snow angels in the HMH from late September on, of course, but that snowdrift Hidden Mickey is a special Christmastime addition - or at least he was last year and in 2007.

i think my favorite hidden mickey to point out is the one on the golf ball at soarin over california! I love that one it goes by fast so you got to really be watching for it.

I have heard that and tried to look but I still can't see it. Goes to fast!

There was another pic that showed the headlights a little bigger. They are upside down and not connected. I thought that too, if they like go around making FAKE HMs! :rotfl:

This is one of my faves too! I see every time, once you see it it's always there but it's a little hard to see it at first. :) Took me a few tries.
