Hidden Mickey Confusion

I'm a little confused about the Hidden Mickeys. Are there two different Hidden Mickey activities? One that is a Quest and the other than invovles a camera? I can't quite figure it out.

I've done the one that invovles walking around and finding the little semi-see through golden mickey heads. I think there are 15 of them.

Then on one of the screens (I can't remember which) you can click to see which Mickeys you've found. I have zero in that category, but found the 15 in the previous activity. Is this activity something different? Is it a Quest? And if so, where do you start it from?

Yes one is the old quest hidden mickey quest two (one ended last year) you take pictures of real hidden mickeys. you can do this quest separate from the others and at the same time if you wish. On our character selection (change clothes, signature sound options) there is now a built in hidden mickey tracking button so you no longer have to go to the vmk central to check your status. also if you run out of film you may buy film from the shop button so you don't have to leave. Two other things, one it is fun to try to find them yourself however this go around they are more elusive and so there is a guide posted in the stickey guide thread at the top of forum. Also note, some of us have had trouble getting it to record all the pictures so watch that. (the one over the Moose head at mark twain seems to be a problem.)

Just wanted to let you know that you might have to complete the Space Quest to get the hidden mickey in the Inner Space shop. This may no longer be true, because I have heard some players say today that they followed into the shop.

I was wondering about that, too. I know there was a mickey in Space traders. How do people doing that the old hidden mickey's get there?

If they can follow somebody there again that is one way. Otherwise they wll have to complete the Dive and Space Quests first.

OK - I just started VMK - I did the hidden mickey quest where you find the golden ones - I think 15 of them. I have a camera and am really wanting to find the 50 hidden mickeys.

Is there somewhere specific you go to enter the quest? When I click on the "Q" button my only options are the quests I have completed? Where can I find or join other quests?

I tried to just take pictures of the 2 hidden mickeys I have found but don't seem to get credit for them? Somebody had said when you point your camera on the hidden mickey it kinda lights up to show you have it?

Any help would be appreciated.

The camera you have to use is the one you buy in VMK Central by clicking on the pirate poster. If you have it the little camera icon will be lit on the bottom of your VMK screen. Beside the camera you have to have film. You also buy that at VMK Central (or by using "Shop"). If you have film when you click on the camera icon and then "Take Picture" you will see the number of shots you have left in the lower right corner of the picture frame. Once you have camera and film, you drag the picture frame so the hidden mickey is inside of it and click "Take picture" (or something like that). A box will pop up with the shot you took and the mickey plainly visible. You also will get a VMK message that pops up after your 1st, 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, and finally 50th hidden mickey.

From what you have said it sounds like you got the camera, but have used up the initial 3 shots you get with it. To check if you have any of the hidden mickeys you can click on the shirt icon at the bottom of your screen and then on "Found Mickeys". If you have any they should show up on that list.

Thanks for your reply. I do have the camera and have taken pictures of a few "hidden" mickeys - one being the cactus at thunder mountain. I guess maybe this is not an official one? It still tells me I have not found any?

But it definitely sounds like this is a separate quest. Is there a hint list anywhere to help us find the official hidden mickeys?

I fell for the cactus one when i first started too. The ones you need to take pictures of are very faint (even more than the quest thing you did) many you can barely see until you take the picture. To get you started there is one in Town Square on the wall next to the floral Mickey's left ear. This is one of the easier ones to see so you can understand hopefully. Just keep in mind if it is too obvious (ex the turntables at the music game- yes I tried this too) then it's probably not a true hidden mickey. Oh and yes there are hint lists all over just make sure it's the one for the Hidden Mickey Search II or you'll be wasting time, film and credits lol

Thanks. Yes, they are very tough to see - even if you have an idea where they are.

Well - I bought ALOT of film....a hunting I will go!!
