Hi
I am a new poster but have read and used many of your hints on my recent visit to DLRP. Thanks so much for the advice.:flower3:

Thought I would post a little warning about the magic of disney and possible problem. Just returned last night from our first visit (what a hassle I had checking in but that is so another story) but thought you would like to know about the 2 donald situation in the studio park.

Hubby, daughter (2) and I stayed to watch the parade from outside studio one. Donald was leading the parade. As soon as it was past we headed out through the stage to be confronted with Donald signing autographs. My very aware daughter looked at me and asked why there were 2 donalds! :scared1: What could I say without ruining disney for her... in the end I just said he ran through a secret tunnel to say goodbye. Just thought I'd warn folk to come up with a good excuse! This happened twice.

Thanks again for all your tips in the past.

Hi treacle and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

Ha ha we did the same with Pluto who was at character meet n' greet at HNY and then we saw him at Cage Mickey. These Disney characters are fast runners :)

funny we have had the same scenario with minnie mouse we left her in disneyland park to see her in frontlot at studios and then on stage at the catch a wave lilo and stitch show last summer......................our kids too also learnt of the secret tunnels and passages the characters use to get around the park in a hurry.........my children were like sponges and soaked the whole thing in ...........besides they will learn that i lied sooner or later that the characters are not real (god help me)so whats one more lie just to keep the magic for them that bit longer

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Of course they are real! :) I know this is slightly off topic but do you know where I can complain about service recieved in hotel?

We also talk about secret passages a lot. We had exactly the same situation as above- Minnie in 3 places within few minutes

statement fully retracted ........spitting out bubbles as i speak of course they are real my sincere apologies to all those that may have taken offence in my brief moment of insanity

normal brain function now restored .........did i really write that earlier post

What these characters arent real??????

I always thought these passages were real :confused3 :rotfl:

I'd been puzzled over that one myself, secret passages eh, I knew there'd be a good explanation somewhere. :)

Not to mention the supersonic aircraft that the characters need to fly from DLRP to WDW to Disneyland to..........:rotfl2:

Oops, where are my manners........welcome to the DIS, treacle! :wave2:

You could phone the hotel themselves, write to them or go through who you booked it with.

Thanks. But remember much like Santa it is possible for the disney folk to visit all the parks in the world in the same day.... at least that is the story I am sticking to!

We saw goofy as we were leaving Magic Kingdom to go to the Studios, and guess who we saw at the entrance to the studios! My boyfriend said "hey, hang on, we just saw GoofY" and I just said "keep walking, keep walking!" and rushed past in denial!

They have magic!!!!!! And they're really fast!

What do you mean with not real characters???? I don't understand!!!!! I've seen them myself, they are real!!!! ;)

I actually haven't had this problem yet, but I wondered about the "face characters" (as I think they're called) - the ones without a mask such as the Princesses. Are they ever seen in multiple places at the same time (within DLRP - not counting WDW, etc)? Or do they only use one costume at a time, and they REALLY are only able to be in one place at a time.

When I was there with my family last summer, we saw the Princesses several times, and I believe we only saw one set of actresses (can I use that word here?) so there was no question about looking different from last time.

Don't know what others have experienced but when we've queued for photos/autographs for the Princesses it's always been the same ones later on that day in the parade. :thumbsup2

Our DD (5) noticed on our trip in Jan this year -Santa Goofy as we left the main park and then saw him at a show in the studios just as we enterd the park. We advised he'd had a quick change and ran over - very fast !!!:lmao: I'm not sure she was convinced however last year whilst we waited to see Pere Noel he went off for a break and came back with a very different physical appearance and she didn't bat an eye (neither did any of the children in the queue).

We have come across a male CM being Bert (from Mary Poppins) at Inventions then later being a Prince at ADC. This was on same trip but different days. DD didn't notice at all. I think they put a lot of emphasis on the costume:goodvibes

Well, we mustn't forget that Walt may have figured out how to stop time without damaging the space time continium :thumbsup2

I had an interesting conversation with my 5 year old niece the other day, who informed me that she didn't think they were the real princesses , just weeks after she'd been thoroughly entranced with Belle - her words at the time "I've never met a real princess before ", that Donald Duck is just somebody in a suit made of white fluff  and that none of her school friends believed her that magic fairy dust flew out of Tinkerbell's wand (Candelabration) :sad2:
Don't you sometimes wish you could keep your kids locked away from everyone else's

On the plus side when I asked about Mickey and Minnie, she replied "Well, obviously they're the real ones !" - Phew.

I think I need to plan to take her on another little trip, to reinforce the magic :wizard:
