Hi everyone,
I hope this kind of post isn't too annoying. I'm a long time on again/off again user but recently changed to this new account. I'm also a long time service dog user (my current guy is 8.5 years and I'm in the process of getting my 3rd service dog trained.) I won't give my whole previous user name, but it started with "Beth" -- so hello to any of you fine friends who might remember me!
Granted, I probably haven't posted on my own for at least a year. I recently got the DAS under the new rules at Disneyland, where my service dog and I visit once a week as a way to cope with my disabilities. We don't get out of the house too much, so my pass was a gift from my husband that I have appreciated so much! I'd like to post a little about our experience getting the new DAS soon, without too many details of course. My disabilities are developmental with severe psychiatric/cognitive symptoms. My service dog is basically attached to me at the hip and we know each other so well that we anticipate each other's doings before we even do them! I would have no independence or ability to live outside a hospital setting without my service dog. In that and many other ways, his coming into my life has saved me and allowed me to live more freely than has ever been possible for me. I am married and I'm in my mid 40s, and of course, we're local to Disneyland. Anyway -- when I have more posts, I'll be glad to upload a picture of the two of us. Thank you for letting me re-introduce myself! By the way -- "Team Wendy and Nana" I thought would be good Disney replacement names for Service Dog Team (me and my service dog.) lol. I was attempting to be creative!
