We are going to Disney on October 29th this year and I cant wait! Im a huge fan, this will be my 7th time!!!

This time the whole families going and we have hired a Villa which looks fab! Also, I have a son now!!! lol:lmao: He will be 2 years 4 months when we go! So i am extrememly nervous as to how he'll find it. Im worried about the travelling/flight...im worried about everything!! I know he'll love it but am just a bit dubious iyswim??

Anyhow, im after lots of tips and advice with a 2 yr old in tow!!! What am I going to do with him when we want to go on the rollar coasters etc!! Tower of Terror is my favorite ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, do any of you know a website which is the best to buy our tickets from. We want to get them cheap as possible (like everyone!) Anyone have any ideas?? Would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks you, look forward to chatting to you all!!! :yay:

Hi and welcome to the DIS!!

To ride the rollecoasters, you can do a thing called a baby swap, where the parents take turns holding ds while the other rides.

I would suggest reading a good guidebook while you wait for your trip to give you a good idea what to expect regarding rides, shows, etc...I really like the Unofficial Guide.

One of my best tips is to bring a small cooler bag w/drinks and familiar snacks, so you have them on hand when you need them and don't have to wait in line to buy them. This has been a lifesaver in lines and shows for us!

Also, if you sign up for the monthly newsletter on mousesavers.com, there is a link to buy slightly discounted tickets from Undercover Tourist. Also, if you are from the UK, there may be special ticket combos that may be for a longer period and ma help you maximize your options.

If you plan on dining at any Disney restaurants, make your reservations as soon as you can (90 days before your trip) as the restaurants book very quickly due to the popular dining plan.

Have fun planning...that is half the fun!

:wave2: Welcome!

My top suggestion would be to fun it up to you DS ahead of time. If you are scared, nervous, jittery, etc he will be also.
Let him know how much fun it is to fly in a plane. Play with airplanes; talk about them; watch cartoons, clips, movies of flights. Bring new games/toys just for the plane. Also if you can have something to drink or a candy to suck to help with his ears. If you are bringing a stroller--Gate Check it so it won't count as one of our baggage items. AND use the family lane going through security...chances are the agents will direct you to this line anyway.
When on rides (like pooh, snow white) point out the fun aspects so he doesn't get scared (Look Roo is flying away, O that ugly whitch's nose looks funny).
If he starts to melt down look at the time. How long has it been since he has eaten or had somehting to drink? Sometimes little ones just need refueling (as well as the big kids).
Don't push. If you need to take a break...TAKE IT!
Are you making ADRs? Make them at you earliest mark. We enjoyed character meals, yes even the buffet ones. The kids loved seeing the characters and getting up for food gave them the opportunity to be allowed to stretch their legs in the resturant. Plus, seeing the characters in the resturants meant we didn't have to stand in every line to see them!
Take advantage of Rider Swap to go on the rides that have height restriction where you DS can't ride...yes, like ToT!!! The RS is good for 3 riders on one ticket, but you must be with the child when getting the RS from the CM. You can also you RS with FPs. Also take advantages of play areas for your little one to run "free."
HTH. Mine are 3 and 5, so they were able to go on most rides...and loved them!

Hey thanks for those great replies!!!

Is there somewhere I can go to get what the abreviations mean?! Some I can guess...but some have baffled me!!! lol

Im from Portsmouth in the UK! xx
