Hi! My name is Laura and I'm trying to plan our 1st trip to WDW. My husband and I have visited when we were under 5. I remember Epcot being built when I was there last time!!! I think that was around 1980?? We have 2 children who are 5 and 3. We are hoping to plan a trip in mid-September once it's less crowded with kids back in school.

Where do I start? I'd like to do this on a budget. I have read many good things about Pop Century but it would be nice to stay somewhere a little bit nicer. But then again, we do have 2 kids under 5.

Where do you suggest I make my reservations through? A travel agent? Should I make reservations separately including airfare and WDW tickets?

I know, so many questions but I seriously don't know where to start with all of this! There is so much to ingest that it's ridiculous!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

okay start with

www.mousesavers.com

I don't use a travel agency. but if you think you need one - use this site sponsors. they use to guaranteed you the best rates for a WDW hotels. they would even change them after you got your reservations....without being asked. to get the best bargin for you. I don't know if they still do that or not.

for tickets get on the email list on mousesavers. this is every month around the 15th - she gives a link to special ticket sellers that allow her readers to get a discount...

for airlines - does either Southwest or Jet Blue fly out of your city to Orlando....

they generally have the best rates. get on Southwest email list (DING) and weekly specials...
http://www.southwest.com/

don't know how to get this information from jet blue.

here are pictures of Pop Century

I definitely love it!!!

now you can also rent points from a DVC member and stay in a DVC resort - deluxe - studio..but the value resort is cheaper!!!

make sure in your planning that you include EMH - extra magical hour - this is before the park opens and after the park closes for only WDW resort guest

have you gotten the DVD from Disney? It is free!!!

Look over these bds, there are plenty of ways to save. You can buy 1 AP and get good discounts on rms from Disney. You can book direct with Disney. Do you want a package? You can rent from a DVC member, the resorts are very nice. Can save you because you pay no taxes. Buy the way Welcome to the DIS Boards!! and good luck with your vacation.

You might want to try buying a guide book. They have several that are really good. Happy planning.

Thank you so much so far for your help! Unfortunately I posted this and then for some reason my home computer won't bring this site up any more!! But I'm on a friend's computer now so I'm able to get on.

I have signed up for the mousesavers newsletter and have also been in contact with one of the agents through Small World travel...just b/c I have no idea how to do this all!

Thanks again in advance to those who help me!

Hi Laura, from another Laura :goodvibes and :welcome: :disrocks: You have definitely come to the right place. Another great comprehensive website is http://www.allearsnet.com There is so much information it will make your head spin :rotfl:

If you are at all interested in guide books, I would highly recommend the Unofficial Guide to WDW....it's huge with tons of valuable info. Also, as you can see, we have stayed at Pop Century and we  it! Best advice is to just have fun planning and enjoy. Personally I think the planning is half the fun......then again I'm an obsessive planner :rotfl2:

Welcome again, we're glad to have you here!
