Hi, folks. We were planning to stay on-site, but since they've done away with the early entry mornings, I'm having a hard time justifying the expense.

Here's what's important to us: a clean hotel, very near Disney attractions, an easy drive (we'll have our own car), an okay pool, and a good price. Breakfast would be nice, but it isn't essential. Same for a refrigerator/microwave -- nice, but not essential since we'll eat out anyway.

We've chosen two properties: The Holiday Inn Maingate East and Howard Johnson's Maingain East. Can anyone give details about either? We have two girls (who will be 6 and 9), so kid-stuff would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi. We've stayed at both. To me they're very comparable. The location of HIME is a little more convenient as you just cross 192 to get to the road to get to WDW(sorry, can't think of the name of the road), but the location of HJME is fine too. HJME offers kids eat free program at the IHOP right next door. HIME offers breakfast in their restaurant. Personally, I liked the food at IHOP better. My kids liked the pool at HI better because it was bigger, and we liked the hot tub at HoJo better because it was warmer. We did have an older room at HI that was a little musty tho. Our room at HoJo was fine. Hope this helps a bit.
