Hi,
I am coming over from Ireland in November with my 5 year old and 1 year old. The 5 year old has been going through chemo treatment for Leukemia for the past 3 yearsandwillbefinished by the time we go. I am wondering if there are any special things that disney will do or can do while we are there. We are staying in the WL for 10daysthe PO for the next 6 days, bythe time wego hisbloodwill still be weakfrom treatment, but should not desire anyspecial treatment,

Thanks,

Tiny

Wow, I will pray for your child's speedy recovery! :grouphug:

I am not sure what needs your child will have exactly... except the monumental weakness. I would DEFINITELY plan on bringing a stroller, and stop at Guest Relations on the way in. Let them know what needs your child has. They can give you a card that allows you to use the stroller as a wheelchair so your child can stay in it through the ride lines. Amazing how much saving that little bit of standing/walking can help a weakened kid!

Cool that you are from Ireland!! My Irish Dancing daughters love everything + everyone Irish!

Good luck, I expect that more Dis-ers will post shortly if they have any more specific advice for you.

I posted yesterday but I don't know where it went. Getting a GAC to use the stroller in line is a good idea. You will be encouraged to use FastPass to shorten wait times. The First Aid Centers are good places to go for a rest. Post chemo my blood levels would get very low and I was encouraged to wear a surgical mask in crowds or on the plane. You may want to check with you doctor to see if this is something for you to consider. When my DD was little she needed an eye patch. I would draw pictures on them to make them more fun. You might want to do the same if you use the masks. Good Luck for a great trip.

What sorts of things are you thinking of needing or wanting?
If you can give a little more information it will help us to help you more.
If you do a search for "GAC" or Guest Assistance Card" you can get a lot of information.
