We went to Candylane a few years ago and it was terrible, we stayed at the lodge and that wasn't any better! We had heard so many good things about it, but we did not enjoy it so I thought it was just us. I even wrote a letter to complain and I never received a response at all. We did end up at the Rockvale Outlets and that was pretty good.

Ugh, I'm sorry you were disappointed in CCL. This is the first time we'd ever been to Hersheypark (which is strange because I LOVE rides and park food) so we weren't sure what to expect. DS is almost 3, so he loved all the kiddie rides they had open. The crowds were really low too, especially considering it was a nice day weather-wise. It wasn't WDW, but it was still nice to spend the afternoon as a family.

We've only stayed at the Hershey Hotel, but like you said, I had heard good things about the Lodge too. Hopefully they were just having an off year when you went.

Today is my second week anniversary from surgery so far all is healing well... went for my 1st op appointment yesterday and according to doc I am really doing great...

Ok... now lets get on with the biz... How was the Nov. meet??? Any pics???

Are we ready for this holiday ??? I know I am not... thank God for surgery I have an excuse not to do anything

OMG DS7's favorite is TTA too!! I love it as well, it's in my top 5. There's nothing like watching the fireworks while riding TTA! 2 weeks ago we were on it when they lit up the castle with the bazillion twinkling white lights - I got goosebumps!

DS says the parks are getting busy. Gearing up for the christmas Holiday. I did Christmas one year in Disney. Super hectic and hard to watch the parades. I felt bad for parents with young children because it was hard to really enjoy the Disney Magic.

Hello everyone from PA!
I just joined today and I was so excited to find this thread. How amazing to have so many Disney fans who are also my neighbors We live in Chester county.

I have been to Disney 3 times in my life. Once when I was 4, once when I was 12, and on my senior year high school trip. Now I am in my 30's and want to take my husband who has never been.

We are hoping to get there by 2009 (hopefully sooner). I have just started researching the all of the new resorts. Does anyone out there have some advice on which one to stay at?

Ok, well, I can't wait to get to know all of you!!

WElcome to dis boards. You will get lots of advice on where to stay. If you are trying to economize we love Pop Century. Really nice and good food court.

I'm up near Allentown, Boy will you be surprised when you go back, things have really changed! I think just about any place on site is great, we've done alot from Low to High and they each have their own appeal to me.

Hey Doppysmama-I grew up in the Allentown area. My pops still lives Allentown. I can't wait to go back to Disney World and see all of the changes. I have started researching our future vacation. I bought "The Unofficial Guide to Disney World 2008" today and have started reading as much as I can on line. I am glad that I started early. I am seeing from this site that there is a lot to learn!!! I still don't quite understand the whole thing about codes. But, I am sure-given enough time-that I will learn

Has anyone stayed at both the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge? Is one clearly better than the other? Not sure we want to stay there but some people have recommended the Grand Floridian and DH likes the looks of the Wilderness Lodge. But, I haven't priced anything yet.
