Hi i'm from P.A.!!!!

For 2 rooms I'm looking at about 6500$ which is bad but not as bad as I thought Plus my one daughter will be an "adult" by disney standards by then. At least newbie will still be "free"

Okay a little vent. Why can't people dress their kids right?? okay its nice out today in PA... 56* here but windy!! There is a little girl next door who I've never seen before except for the last 2 weeks. She is the size of my 2 yr old boy but say's she's 5? anyway... she has a T-shirt on and jeans.. HELLLOOO its not that warm. I dont know who her parents are?? I know its not the neighbor? I dont think its a grandchild... she's 5 I would have seen her before right?? So she is talking with my kids thru the fence and she's cold! she tells me she's cold. I ask if she has a coat she says no :( I go get her a jacket (pink at her request) I dont get it?? why wouldn't this lil girl be COLD in this?? why not give her a jacket?? there is no one out there watching her. :(

SOOOOO nice out today!!!!!

Has anyone done a land/sea package with disney?? We are thinking of doing this in LATE 2009 or Late Summer 2010.. We'll need 2 rooms but even with the price I was just quoted it didn't seem TOOO horrible.. keep in mind too horrible in price with disney is still freaking expensive!!

Yes did is the first year it was offered about the fifth cruise out. We did the three day land and four day sea in that order. We loved it. You never have to worry about your luggage it appears everywhere. Went with teenage sons at the time and they spent the whole time in the teen lounge. We only requested that they have dinner with us. They felt some indepence and had a great time and made some good friendships too.It also was great to watch the little children around the boat with their little kits and activities. I would like to do again, thinking possibly next year as a graduation present to step DD, don't know yet though. DS who works for Disney took the one week Disney Cruise this past fall and liked it very much. He doesn't need to the Land and Sea package. I am sure you will have a great time.

Have to laugh Helene - DS10 fought me & fought me to wear shorts to school today & I insisted he could NOT. Well don't we get to the bus stop & half the kids have shorts on!!! What are their parents thinking?!?! It was 60 when I picked them up from the bus this afternoon but it was cloudy & breezy & I was cold with a sweatshirt on.

Oh dont get me wrong i had shorts on today while out there but I was FREEZING! It got better after I posted, I became a babysitter to a lil kid I dont know, no clue who the parents are. She begged me not to leave :( but it was already 7pm she had to go. Her dad (I think??) was out fixing his car in my neighbors garage, I asked if it was okay she was over he said yes, but who says its okay for their child go to someones house they've never met? no clue if i'm a psycho (which can be debated at some points) is this normal?? I'm sure I'll see her alot this summer if its anything like the last 2 weeks. She's been out in the yard after 3pm everyday. My life with 4 kids flashed before my eyes today... it wasn't pretty :(

Ok Helene call me a hypocrite (sp) - I let them both go off to school today with shorts on! My disclaimer was that they had to have a hooded sweatshirt on to go in this morning. Looks like another gorgeous day in PA!

I'm sure we'll have shorts on here later. But I'm serious is it normal to let your 4/5yr old kid just go off to someones house they've never met before, the parents haven't seen before?? Am I the werid one?? (that should be my tag) growing up I knew everyone on my street and so did my parents they grew up on the same street I lived on, I had 3 grandparents (in 3 different houses 2 great grandmothers, and one set of grandparents) on that street so this "not knowing all your neighbors" is kind of new to me. My best friend from growing up moved to the same street I live on after he divorce. So my kids KNOW her and go with her but I couldn't see me sending my kids to someone's house who I've never met before, I'm just stunned that people do this?

I definitely is a different world out there. My kids always knew with someone new and going to their house, I always wanted to talk to a parent and find out what was going on, if it was indeed okay, etc. etc. When Princess Always and my kids were in school we had the parents who never paid any attention to their kids, and here we were making sure about everything. There were times they weren't happy with us, or least I know that for sure at my house, but as they hit high school I heard more than once that they really appreciated how we were involved in their lives and cared. they had several friends who didn't have the support and love from home. I don't get it, why have kids then. I see behaviorly problems at stores and other places and some parents don't have a clue what their kids are doing. As far as the dressing attire, I agree when they are younger the parent still needs to make the choice for them, but often the parents are the one setting the example. When kids get older you can try to encourage a certain item to wear, but they will wear what they want, but my boys knew if they were cold or had other issues I wasn't listening.

I also wonder if people have a different mindset the further away from a city you are. The feeling of we are all in a nice neighborhood, so no criminals could possibily be here.

WE just moved to our house in Schuylkill Haven, and we have kids across the street from us, they all play together outside, but I'm leary about having them go inside. I know the parents, but not well enough yet, I suppose. My 11 YO DD has become friends with a girl just down the road, and she is allowed to play there, but again, I'm not comfortable with them playing inside. And last night I became the over-protective parent because 3 of my children were over at the neighbors jumping on their trampoline, well, their trampoline doesn't have a net on it, and I don't want them jumping on one that doesn't have a net. Now we have a trampoline, but it has a net on it. So I guess it's more fun with no net, but I was concerned with the bouncing off and injuring yourselves part of the no net issue.

Needless to say, I'm sure I'm mean, but I'd rather having them walking past me probably mumbling under their breath and not.

Helene,

It will be cheaper if you don't book it as a Land and Sea package. And depending on how many are going, you can get a town car to transfer you which may save you more money. If you are interested, I can see if the agency I work for has group rates, which will make your cruise cheaper. I booked next years ladies only trip for October all ready, so I know they are out there.

Ok Helene, paybacks are a _____! I relented yesterday & let them wear shorts to school. At 5am they were both up - one hacking up a lung & the other with a sore throat! I drugged them up & sent them off to school only to have the nurse call after lunch that the older one had a 102 temp & sore throat, to come pick him up. Guess it serves me right!

Very foggy & humid here! Just sent DH & the boys off to baseball opening day. They have back-to-back games from 11-2:30 so that's where I'll be later on! Linda how many more days til your trip - can't be many! 22 days for me!

11 not that I'm counting or anything!! :lmao: BUT, if I use "Disney math" it's only 6 more work days!!! :rotfl: You gotta love the fuzzy Disney math!!!:rotfl:

Awe.....boys at baseball! Those were the days! Tiggerfan4me & I spent many Saturdays at games! Enjoy them now. I miss those days!!

anyone get that nasty storm this morning?? Holy winds!!! It woke me and Abby up. No thunder just MAJOR winds and rain about 5am. Hope everyone has a good day. Looks like its gonna be nice. YAY.

yES HAD THE SAME STORM AT AROUND THE SAME TIME. We worked outside today doing some mulching. It was a great day to be outside. Yes, Princess Always and I sat through many baseball games and running ragged with kids schedules. Enjoy these years.

Hi,

Just wanted to update that my daughters surgery went alot better than expected she didn't have to have the skin graph. The surgeon said that from what he could tell the area around the head and the lymphnodes they removed from her neck all looked cancer free. Thank you everyone for your prayers we will know officially in 7 days when the biopsy comes back but everything looks great.

Mindyd so glad to hear that! Thanks for letting us know and please continue to keep us updated. We will continue to keep you daughter in our prayers.

Also glad to hear that everything went well for your daughter. I am also glad she didn't have to have the skin grafts. We went through those with DS when he was three months old after a serious infection. So glad your DD didn't have to endure that and it is wonderful how the reports came out. There is no doubt in the power of prayer.
