I have been lurking for a while and you all have such great information. My newbie question of the day. We are staying at SSR for the first time and we are counting the days. My concern is the starter package of coffee, toiletries and laundry soap, is it enought to last the days before the room is refreshed or should I be bringing extra with me?

Thanks for all your help

Cathy

The coffee packages are one use, and you may get 1 or 2 of them, but no more. The toiletries are the little hotel size, and if you are in a one bedroom or more, you will get one little one use box of Tide. If you are in a 1 or 2 bedroom, there will be soap/shampoo by the shower stall as well as the tub. I've not needed more toiletries, but I do bring more coffee with me.

Thanks

That is helpfull, I thought we would need more coffee. We are staying in a two bedroom with five people. My quess is we will need more laundry soap also. I can hardly wait.

I think it depends on how much you normally use. We tend to be heavy handed with it so the little hotel bottles don't last us very long. We always bring our own for that reason and I tend to prefer my stuff over what you get in the room. I don't like having to ration what they give me to make it last.

Can't comment on the coffee since we don't drink the stuff.

Thanks

Have a great time! We've always just asked housekeeping for more of the dishwasher packets and have never had a problem getting those. You are right to bring more laundry detergent.

PS. Oh, if the two bedroom is a lock off, the kitchenette in the studio part will also have 1-2 of the coffee packs.

We just got back from at 2BR at SSR on Sat. Not a coffee drinker but noticed there were 5 packets there, so probably that would be it for the first day! I brought my own laundry detergent and toiletries. We did laundry everyday as we were lucky enough ( deep sarcasm!) to be there when it was 45 degrees! You will LOVE SSR, it is beautiful!

Definitely bring coffee (Disney coffee is awful :sad2: ) and filters (basket flat bottom type).

I always bring my own laundry soap, as I have kids with allergies/sensitive skin and need the fragrance free.

Welcome to the DIS!! pixiedust:

I have to hop on the bring your own coffee bandwagon :coffee:

We have found if you need extra shampoo and such, if you see housekeeping they will give it to you.

Have a great trip!

I bought those pre-packaged coffee packets. (I think they're made by Folgers.) I actually usually drink Costco (Kirkland) coffee but this was ok for the time at SSR and convenient--you just put in more packets if you want to make more cups or like it stronger.

Definitely bring your own coffee. ChelleinNC is right. The coffee they give you is :crazy2: yucky! We were in a 2 bdrm. last May. Ran out of lots of toiletries but mousekeeping was really good about giving us refills. ::yes::
Enjoy your trip!!

Definitely bring your own coffee!!

I don't tend to do a lot of laundry when I vacation and prefer to bring enough clothes for at least 1/2 the stay - we would do one load (2 Adults, 2 kids) midweek and then on the day prior to checkout day (so I don't have too much when I get home) - found that I had enough laundry soap that they supplied.

Toiletries - I have brought my own but really don't need to.

One day I would love to pack just a bathing suit, pajamas and one change of clothes - haven't had the nerve yet!!

We were at SSR with 5 people in a 2 BD too. The kids brought their own shampoo (picky girls!) The shampoo and soap supplied was more than enough for DH and me. I bought trial size laundry soap at Target and brought it with me so that we would be able to wash towels and such. I did not want to wait 4 days for that. It turned out that I washed most of our clothes before leaving and it was nice not to have a huge pile of dirty laundry when returning home. Also about the coffee, stop at the Artist Palette when you arrive to get milk unless you want to use the powder stuff that they supply. Have a great time!

First off :welcome: to the DIS! Be warned it is very addictive. You didn't say if you are driving or flying. We are drivers so we take a ton of stuff with us. We tend to go in warmer times so we usually get our caffeine through diet mtn dew. If you are flying there are places to pick up stuff when you are there, it is pricey but available.

Thanks everyone. We are flying but think we will use the grocery delivery service. This will save on water and snacks in a big way. We will be ther 12 nights so ordering milk and coffee will be an easy fix. I agree on not doing a lot of laundry or cooking because we are on holidays and I do want to relax. This will be our fourth trip to Disney but first with DVC and I can hardly wait. We are planning on relaxing more this time, who am I kidding lol.

1st off :welcome: to the Boards...

as for your concern... I myself is a coffee drinker so I just bring my own Starbucks/Seattle's Best Coffee you can take everything from me but not my coffee :crazy2:

had the chance to stay ina one bedroom... the tide they give you is for two loads... and two sheets of softener the last time we were there (heard that lately they only have ben giving just the tide) which means for me I usually bring a box of tide good for 6 loads ~ I usually get them at a CVS here... and also bring a handful of bounce sheets... our clothes goes straight to the washing machine by the hallway by the end of the day... when every is setlled in I run a load... and by morning just place it in the drier before living the room... love the fridge to stuck water, soda, some frozen meals...

shampoo/conditioner.. the small bottle/pair was good for 2 showers for 4 2 adults 2 kids the last time we did this... and yes mousekeeping are nice enough to give us extra... but sometimes you come accross a few mean ones that our neighbor was asked to pay for a fee.. forgot whats its called.. but it is a it or miss I think...

hope my 1 cent helped..:goodvibes
