Today we had decided to get to The Studios for opening to be one of the first in the queue for Crush. We knew that it would probably be our only time on this as we had never seen the waiting time under 70 minutes
so that was the plan. Up and dressed and arrived at the Studio gates around 9.20 where a small queue had formed - waiting for a moment I realised we could get down as far as the turnstiles by going through the EMH entrance at Disneyland park and then walk over. So arrived there along with a few others and then the turnstiles opened at we made it into Studio 1 and we walked briskly as far as the top doors where we were stopped. It was now about 9.40. In the next 10 minutes Studio 1 filled up until you could not move
. The CMs then braced themselves and got ready to open the doors. We didn,t know what to do for the best. We had to run for fear of being flattened so held on to the kids hands for dear life and prayed Disney Crocs were made for 100 meter sprint
. The doors opened and already we had been thown out of the way but made it so far and we came up against a row of CMs with their arms locked and a look of fear on their faces. They were soon thrown out of the way and on to the queue which is a rope type affair outside. For every person who joined the queue another 20 just walked under the rope - I thought DH was going to end up hitting someone. Anyway we were in the queue and had to wait about 20 minutes. The walkthrough had great theming and when Lewis saw the shells we was quite excited. Molly just went quiet. Onto the ride we went ond off we went. It went so fast I didn't really take much in apart from the fact I could hear Molly screaming "Make it stop" over and over
When we got off they both looked a bit green. So Crush hasn't been added to their to do list. Iwould do it again to try and take the surrounding in. After that back onto Cars again
Then did the Backlot tour again and the sun came out in force again. Mum and Rosie decided they wanted to go back to the hotel as the clothes they had on were a bit warm. The kids wanted to go for a swim so we went off to the village to find armbands for Lewis so he could go on the dragon slide. We had a wander through the Village and were told we could get the armbands at a hotel that had a pool so we ended up at The New York where the kids found the quad bikes
The shop inside the hotel was lovely. I got my 15th anniversary wine and a couple of anniversary pins I hadn't seen in the parks. Just as we got out of the hotel my mobile phone rang and it was my dad saying his case had turned up and one of ours had turned up
. My mums and Rosies were still not here and we were still missing two.
I practically sprinted back to the hotel and collected our suitcase. Had a bit of everything in it apart from my toilet bag which was in the other but I was lucky to now have a change of clothes. Kids went swimming and we sat out on the patio and soaked up the sun. We had a reservation for Cafe Mickeys tonight so we went upstairs to all have a shot of my hair straighteners
and off we went.
We were seated downstairs quickly and we got our free aperitif as we all had the Dream Pass. Not long after we sat down all the characters came out and the kids loved every moment.
Lewis loves Mr Smee
We had a lovely meal and the kids had some great character interaction. We also got 20% off the bill with our passes.
My favourite bit was the pudding.
Did a bit more shopping and then headed back to the hotel for a drink. Headed up to bed and the kids cheered when I handed them their own pyjamas.
