I have been browsing these boards for a few months, joined about 3 months ago, but have been so overwhelmingly busy, have not had time to sit down and do an intro.
My name is Laurie, my husband is Doug and we have 2 grown children a daughter 17 and a son 20. My son has since outgrown the Disney phase (if that is at all possible), and my daughter still shows some interest, but not as much as my husband and I.
I grew up a Disney kid, went to Disneyland for a few years, then Disneyworld was built, and we started going there every year until I was 14, then re-disvcovered the Land
I am 44 now, and between the 2 parks, have been about 40 times. I was in a very bad car accident a few years ago, and had to have part of my C-spine repaced with a synthetic one, making travel impossible, and not able to even think about going on rides. Three surgeries later, I am tired and need a break from this. My neurosurgeon was iffy on letting me go, but has agreed that I will probably go anyways, so told me to go easy if I have to go on the rides (test the gentle ones first). I am a roller coasteréride finatic, so, ya, not much makes me stay away.
So, here we are, just over 3 weeks until our next trip, just hubby and I are going, 8 blissful days we will be there, with 6 of them in the park. A much needed vacation.
I just want to add, I love these boards, I think the people are great, and I like the fact that there is a support group for our Dis-addictions
