Hubby and I went to DW in 2004 for our Honeymoon (my first time, his 7th)

Now 11 years later we will be taking our kids for our 11 year Anniversary in Feb.

They will be 2, 4, 7 when we go so I am doing loads of research about what we should do.
We are driving from Austin TX and are on the single income/homeschool family budget LOL

So no dining plans, we are going to brown bag it. I will be searching for lots of info and tips!

welcome fellow Texan!

we make the drive all the time. Its a fun part of our vacation :)

Yes welcome,

I drove from Lubbock two years ago. Did it in 24 hours, so you have it easy lol. Going via Southwest next month though, I must be getting soft.

Have a great trip.

Cheers Larry.

Excellent plan and welcome. Hey i was in Plano Texas on a training course...loved Texas.

Texas is pretty awesome- thankfully the drive East getting out of Texas is better than the drive west- it takes 10-11 hours just to leave El Paso from Austin.

We may be amending plans to buy our pop-up early and camp!

Welcome!

The only part of Texas I ever visited was El Paso and that was awesome.

We have a step up, as we have family in Beaumont, so usually leave after our daughter gets out of school and make it to Beaumont to sleep over...then hit the road and push on to Tallahassee, and stay at the La Quinta on Morgan. Then it is only 4 hours to the World.

But the trip home we make it to Mobile and then home...from Austin, you can make Mobile in one trip, but check the hotel reviews, there are nice parts and bad parts, last thing you want to do is end up at a place like Austin's Rundberg hotel row.

Also thought I saw you say you were getting a pop up or rv...so aside from Disney, you got a Texas Parks pass and go camping here? There are some great places a short drive..Inks Lake in Burnet, and Beuscher in Smithville are two of our faves.

We're in Pflugerville!

We drove our first few trips with our DD (started when she was 3)

Don't get off in Slidell. LOL. We still joke about that. Our first drive we didn't have reservations for our stop. My plan was to drive until I couldn't any more then get off and get a room. Well, we got off in slidell LA and had a devil of a time getting back on the interstate! :-)

If you've never been to the beaches in FL stop in Pensacola on the drive down. We did, didn't take more than an hour, but the beach was amazing. It was our first time to see non-Texas beaches.
