I was a (quiet) member of these boards some time back, mainly on the UK boards, and got great information before my family went to Florida. For a variety of reasons my activity dropped down to nil, but I have missed the boards a lot.
Lately I have been lurking quite regularly and have noticed quite a change! Luckily we have got broadband recently so I'm not running the bill up, lol!
There are so many fascinating people out there and I hope to get to know as many as possible in the near future.
Cheers (or as we say here "Slainte!),
Sandra

It's great to see you here, SandraM. Did you know that we have a transatlantic chat every Sunday evening. It's true!

We have a transatlantic chat every Sunday evening at 7PM gmt. I hope you can join us sometime, it's fun to plan trips in chat. You will find the chat room right HERE

Visit often, SandraM, I'd love to get to know you better.

 Hi Sandra!!! Good to see you here! And I agree, there are many fascinating people out here :) Enjoy!

Hello. I will be looking to you for advice as i have a college daughter who is considering doing a semester of study in Ireland. Limerick I believe. My ancestors hail from County Cork. I would love to have some advice on this.

Hi, Sandra!!
I am soo envious - Ireland and Scotland are my fantasy trip destinations!
Welcome to the CB!

Hi from Georgia. I've heard Ireland is beautiful, and very green.:) My grandmother chose my first name because of the Shannon River.:)

Hi Sandra! :wave2:

Add me to the list of folks who want to pick your brain. :chat: I am currently saving to take my mom on a surprise trip to Ireland the year I turn (shhhhhh) 40. She's always wanted to go, and my dad has no desire, so I decided I will take her. It's a good 3 years away, so stick around for a while, OK? :teeth:

Hey Debster, I'm saving to take my mom and dd also. My father would never take her. I"m trying to convince my sisters to tag along.

Hello!
I was fortunate enough to visit Dublin for a super quick trip. It was so wonderful I can't wait to take my children there!

I also was fortunate enough to be able to tour Ireland with my son a couple of years ago. I am longing to return with my new husband.

A month ago we received a brochure in the mail. It offered Thanksgiving in Ireland. 3 nights, 4 days, and included flight, first class hotels, escorted tour, and most meals, for $799 per person.

It was so very tempting. But as we are headed to Disney for the beginning of November, it just felt like too much traveling in one month.

Plus, considering the length of the flight, 4 days would barely give me enough time to recover from jet lag. Perhaps when I was younger and healthier, but those days are long gone LOL

Hi from Tralee!!

Tiggeroo, my bf is currently in Limerick and i go up there a lot so if you do need help i'm here too!

Wow, that's some welcome. Thanks everyone.
Katholyn, I'll try to pop into chat. Never done it before!
Adamak, I used to work in New York (Wall St) back in 1983/84. I moved to NJ for a while and used to take the PATH train into WTC every morning. I loved looking up at the twin towers. So sad about 9/11.
Hi Tiggeroo, I guess IrishAngel is going to be able to give you first hand info!
Anyone planning a trip to Ireland, I'd be delighted to pass on any tips!
Thanks again everyone,
"see" you all again soon.
Sandra

Hi SandraM and welcome! My mother is from Co Kerry and I was fortunate enough to travel there with her several years. We had a brief stop in Dublin. I loved Ireland and wished I could have stayed forever.

Hi IrishAngel! I still have family near Tralee. Maybe we are related?! :p

Hey Sandra, WELCOME BACK! :earsgirl:
