We just spent our first night at POP. It really is sick just how familiar this place is to us...some of the cm's have recognized us and come by to say hello....this is our 3rd stay here since last Sept/Oct and the other 2 were each 14 nts!!! Ds even knows where the receptical is to charge his gameboy!!!! We check out of here Sunday and go to VWL...first time in anything but a value here at WDW, can't wait.
We stayed at the Calrion on Transit RD...$55.99 was CAA rate and includes park n fly...took there shuttle to the airport, easy check in as always, I love BUF after flying out of YYZ for so many years. Curbside check in is the best!!! Flight was half empty which meant lots of room and a relaxed flight crew...they were great. We left a few minutes early and by 10 I was speaking to the first DME rep.
DME was extremely smooth...i had no tags. Waited in a kind of long line that moved very fast...they had at least 8 counters open and lots of people in the area to help out. I didn't have tags...no problem...took my room ressie, recorded numbers off of my luggage tags, asked me to best describe my luggage based on pictures they had and escorted me to wait with ds to the side. He was in the wheelchair so we had to wait for the lift bus. 15 minutes wait tops. While waiting spoke to Jennifer a wonderful supervisor who used to work at the Poly, she was shocked at what veterans we were!!! She asked ds how old he was and he said he'd be 9 on Friday...she asked our last name and his first...maybe some bday pixie dust on the way, I would think. Video on bus made the drive go by very quickly...I didn't ask him once if we were there yet!!
They had us assigned in 70's but we asked to be moved to 50's. They said they could but that room wasn't ready...the other was and this was at 11:30. We were taking alamo shuttle to car care center for shopping the rest of the day so we didn't care. After getting car headed straight for sweet tomatoes on Int'l drive for our favorite buffet and lunch. We weren't disappointed.
After that headed to Belz, which changed it's name to Prime 1 so I drove past it. Hit the disney outlet stores...my god the deals!!! Got nephew a great fall lined jacket, longer style with stich on front and large on back for $12.99 regukar price was 48. Got neice tinkerbell fleece jacket for $9.99. They had the princess dresses for $27.99. They had the big snow globe that i wanted in the parks in January that was $120...for $42.99. Couldn't get it...too much hassle to get it home. I will try to think of other deals for later.
We went to Titanic exhibit, ds was so looking forward as he loves everything titanic. 10 minutes into it...he had a complete melt down and we had to leave. Some of you know he is high functioning autistic and has a number of severe fears and phobias...in his mind everything looked so much like the real thing...the guide was in costume and character, he couldn't fathom that we were not on the real thing. He thought they were going to show us how it sunk and run us into an iceberg!!! Some times his reality is so distorted it scares me.
So we left there went to the vanity fair outlet so i could get some...intimates. Then headed to Target...3 hours later and $220 Ds ended up with 6 pairs of shorts, 3 polo shirts for back to school, 11 "dressy" t-shirts some for now some for back to school, new sandals, and a bunch of other stuff for now and fall. What great deals we get there...lucky i brought another suitcase empty!!!
When we got back to POP got our room in the 50's and at 10:30 finally relaxed in the 50's pool. Today is ds's birthday, I always feel like it is my celebration since it was the best day of my life!!!
We are heading to Epcot this a.m. to get our DDE letter...then returning the car and going to chef mickeys...off to MK to get our bday button and dinner tonight at Le Cellier...his choosing...must run...will let you know about what's new at the parks later!!!
