Also I saw 2 things that really shocked me, the first was a couple (actually a Lesbian couple which made it worse as my children had never seen anything like this) They were kissing (and I mean kissing, you could see everything!!) and FONDLING, yes FONDLING, UNDER their coats, it was so obvious and I was really shocked, my children (14 and 16) were very, VERY, embarassed!! It would have been just as bad if the couple were straight.... I think some things are best left to the imagination.... my children and lots of other people and children, really didn't need to see that. And you won't believe this, this was all happening in the queue (35 mins) to Phantom Manor. Luckily we were not directly behind them.... but the woman infront of us with her family was absolutely fuming!
That is disgusting. Disney is a family park and behaviour like that is totally unacceptable. God only knows what I would have done if my children had seen that, I think they would have been deeply disturbed. :(

The other thing that shocked me happened in Main St, outside one of my fav places, Cable car Bake shop. A young boy of about 3, pulled his trousers and pants down, around his ankes ,and began weeing on one of the trees and all over the pavement!! His father got the camera out and was taking photos!!!! Honestly some people!! There was no need for that, there are enough toilets in DLP. Also that's a place where people sit and wait for parades!! Awful!!
What on earth is wrong with that family?! I am horrified by this....that is truly awful. :confused3 I hope they were escorted from the park.

Hi Tia,

Glad you're back [ thought the boards had been a bit quiet ;) ], and that over all it was a good trip! :goodvibes

I ca't remember ever being bothered by a smoker in a queue or other confined space in all our 4 visits. But like you if someone smoked next to me in a queue I'd just tut and waft my hand around but not actually complain!

Glad you enjoyed the Sequoia so much! :goodvibes

Hi Rhiannon, last time I was here, you had PC probs', glad to see you got it sorted.

This was my 8th trip to DLP and the very first time EVER that I've been bothered by smokers. I suppose I was just unlucky this time.... or maybe I've been walking around with my eyes closed on previous visits. :confused3

Tia, I do not feel you are whinging, I would have been disgusted at both incidents too. I really don't know what is the more shocking, the fondling couple (nobody wants to be subjected to a display like that whether the couple are straight, gay or whatever) or the child and the "snap-happy" father.

This was only our second visit to DLRP and although we were not subjected to smoking in any queues or near us whilst waiting for the parades/shows, I did notice an awful lot more people smoking than in the summer. The number of people who lit up as soon as they exited a ride was very noticeable and I was concerned by the number of people walking around with lit cigarettes, just at the right position to catch a small child in the face.
I would have no hesitation to object if someone was smoking right next to me, even if it did no good I would feel better.
Sorry to take over your thread but I must just say that the worst behaviour we witnessed this trip came from a British  family on the bus back to the offsite hotels one night. The bus was very crowded as usual and they had sent their small child aged about 5 on ahead. He was quite happy where he was but the parents decided he should come down the bus to be with them (a bit late for playing the concerned parents me thinks!). Of course he couldn't get through easily but most people were moving as much as they could to let him pass. There was a European guy in the way who was oblivious to all of this but instead of reaching across to tap him on the shoulder and saying "Excuse me" which is understood by just about everybody, the parents proceeded to mouth off about ignorant foreigners and started telling the boy to hit him with his pirate sword to get him to move. Luckily the bus then reached the Explorers so the boy never actually hit the poor unsuspecting man and we were able to escape. My girls couldn't believe the behaviour of the parents, I always try to impress on them that they are ambassadors for their country when they are abroad and that it is very important that they show that not all British are lager louts and booze cruisers.:goodvibes
Just to add that luckily this family were not at our hotel, pheww what a relief! :rotfl2:

The smoking did seem to be at an all time high when we were there too - quite alarming seeing how many people disgard of their butts by flicking them, lit, where ever they are.

How absolutely disgusting.... I dread to think what that child will become under the guidance of such ignorant parents :confused3 . Being Greek myself, the comment about ignorant foreigners is very hurtful. I must say though, any bad behaviour I've seen in DLP has NEVER been by the British. :goodvibes And thank goodness they were not at Hotel.... I bet you would have a few more stories to tell if they were!

I think what is so sad and pathetic is that the parents did not realise that they were abroad and were actually the ignorant foreigners themselves.

Exactly right! I just googled it - it's just in Scotland, not for us yet though unfortunately.
It will mean major changes. Even the local papershop owner will not be able to puff like a chimney in the back shop.
have a look here for further details.

Unfortunately where ever you go you'll find that type of behaviour.
Makes me mad when I hear comments like "I can't get a decent English breakfast". Makes me think why not stay at home then :confused3
