I am having knee surgury to repair my messed up right knee so now our trips for this year and next are out as the operation won't be for about 5 months and the recovery will be about another 9 or 10 months. If anyone is looking for a great vacation we have our DVC points up for rent let me know if you would be interested we have 270 points available.
darrenlisa@rogers.com or pm me here.

Hi Darren. So sorry to hear about your knee. I know that you guys had prepared for this news, but it's still tough all the same. :( I just sent you an e-mail.

Mary Liz

Thanks Maryliz I kew it was coming to that but it doesn't make it any better I hate operations and have had enough of them on my knees to know how painfull and long and drawn out they can be. Now I get to wait till they call me with the date for it I think the waiting is the worst part.

Hi Darren,

Sorry to hear about your knee. I think the waiting will be the worst part of everything. Hopefully the result though will be great!!

Take care and lots of pixie dust.

Thanks for the well wishes it makes this alot easier knowing we have a close knit family (dis) family.

Awww, I'm so sorry to hear about your upcoming knee operation and having to postpone your next trips, Darren.

Well, we'll just have to have more London DIS Meets to help you through it all! :)

:grouphug: , Darren. I know ow hard it is NOT to have a trip planned. Take care of yourself and your knee.

ML, I just put YOU in charge of the y70th birthday Magical Gathering.

I agree Julie it will be our salvation for not being able to go there hehehe. I hope to be 100% before the cruise in 06 and if not I am getting a scooter to use on the ship hehehe.

no thoughts about banking your points for a blow-out vacation in a Grand Villa, or a concierge trip...or a cruise...???

Wait...just saw you're planning a cruise in 2006...:)

:sunny:

We have allready banked 150 and are now renting out the points for this year and the banked ones. Allready transferred out 20 to another member. Total points left to rent out is 250.

I'm gonna go dig out my Caskbill planner....maybe we could have a blowout trip this year...!!!:):)

:sunny:

Thans again everyone for the help and well wishes.
Darren

Hi Darren,
So sorry about your knee. I'm going to talk to DH tonight about this. It really makes more sense than waiting for codes. I'll email you when I know more.
Nancy

Ok nancy thanks very much.
Darren

Sorry to hear about your knee Darren! It's better to rest and get better, that way when you go to Disney, you'll enjoy yourself :)

I'll have to look at how to rent points ... I've always made ressies through CRO, so I have no experience in renting from DVC. Let me know if you have any points leftover. I'd be willing to try and use some on my October trip :)

I will let you know Bunnyfoo and will get back to you as soon as Ihave a final number for points .
I hope this gets done sooner than later I hate being in constant pain from it it really sucks. Knee injuries are terrible as they hamper mobility and mae you rely on others to get you around especially if it is your right leg like mine is. I can't even drive to the mall to get out for a bit.

Thanks Darren! A co-worker of mine had a knee injury a couple of months ago after he slipped in the park. Even though he lived across the street from our office, it still took him more than 20 minutes to get to work. Maybe you can start some new debates on the debate boards :)

I know how hard it is to rely on others -- sort of. My DS severely sprained his ankle last Thursday playing basketball. He's on crutches and we go for the first physio tomorrow. At this point he can't put any weight on the foot and he's starting to realize that this isn't going to go away in a day or two. He's 17, almost 18 and it's not sitting all that well with him that it could very well be 4-6 weeks before he's feeling better. He hates the fact that he can't do things that he would normally not think twice about -- esp. getting a snack and taking it to his room -- with his crutches he can't carry a plate!! This is major stuff for a teenage boy.

Hope you are scheduled for surgery sooner rather than later so that you can then start the recovery process that much sooner too.

Pixie dust is flying your way -- please catch it!

Oh I know with the crutches it is a pain to try and do anything you can't carry anything and forget about getting around in smaler rooms or isles in the stores it just doesn't work. I will start a debate on knee surgury and see how it goes hehehe.
