While I am back and have a couple of minutes. We had a great time on our cruise--Carnival Spirit to Panama, Belize and Costa Rica. And an even busier time at Disney. Pop Century was nice, it was clean and we didn't have too many problems. Everything went great and we ended up doing so much. The lines weren't bad at all, as a matter of fact I went on Test Track twice in a row with no wait, and Kali River Raft Ride we rode 4 times in the morning and then 5 times in the afternoon. We rode the safari 3 times, 2 times in the morning and 1 time in the afternoon. I did find out this time that for my rest in the afternoon I could go to the first aid place. They have beds and rooms that they darkened. It was really nice. I didn't have a migraine the whole time I was there. That was a first. We had a WONDERFUL meal at Artist Pointe on the Wed. night and a fun lunch at Crystal Palace (no ps and we got in within 5 min.) with Winnie the Pooh. The only meal I was not impressed with was our Princess supper at the GF. I have never felt more rushed in my life. They were offering me tea before I had even finished my entree. We were at a table for 2 right against the wall and near the waitress entrance. I'm not sure what they were going to do with the table as there was no place to put it and we saw no other couple but anyway. It wasn't that we were there a long time either but we just won't do that again. Fun to do but not again.

Welcome back, it sounds like you had a good time overall, I'm glad.

Welcome back tigercat! Sounds like you had a great trip. Sorry about the disappointing meal at GF ... nothing worse than a server trying to rush you through a meal :(

What was Pop Century like? Which building did you stay in? Did you use the bus service?

We stayed in the 50's section I believe building #3. They initially told us to park at the very end of the 50's and 60's parking lot and walk to our room. It turned out that our room was at the very end of that walk on the other side of that walk and on the other side of the lake. It turned out we had a short walk to the main building and if we parked in the first parking lot we had a lot shorter walk. It was nice for us because we were not that close to the swimming pools to be bothered by them but were close to everything. I only took the bus once. We were at MGM and had done what we had wanted to do and I needed to get back (I didn't know about the 1st Aid buildings at this time) for my nap (if I don't have a rest in the afternoon, I end up with a migraine.) and I didn't know where Dan had parked the car so I just took the bus back. As I told Dan, at least I have taken the bus before so I was comfortable with it. It didn't take that long to come (after I finally found which bus stop was for Pop Century, it wasn't really well marked as you came out of the gate) and the trip back to the resort was very quick. I would have had no problems getting around on the transportation provided if we hadn't of had our car.

Hello ... sounds like you had a nice trip. I hope that we won't have a bad dinner experience at the GF when we go next week. We've booked an early time at 4:30 as this is best for our two young children ( 2.5 and 6 mos). Do they allot a certain amount of time for people to eat? I plan on taking my time, which we will have to when eating with young ones, especially one who I will probably have to take a quick break somewhere to breastfeed her. What was the food like? What was the atmosphere like? Was there good character interaction?

Thanks so much!

We had reservations at 6:30 and there were a LOT of people with kids there and after we left. There were 4 characters there. Cinderella and Prince Charming (who really is Charming and is that in real life I found out) and 2 mice. Cinderella was really great with everyone but especially the kids. She would get right down to their level. It was really nice to see. The only thing that kindof disturbed me was one little girl was having her birthday and the Maitra D brought over a really nice rose cake and Cinderella items (wand, crown, ect) and had Cinderella meet him at that table to present it to her (she was a real brat). They sang Happy Birthday to her then Cinderella left. It turned out that the little girl beside us (also beside the girl who got the stuff) saw this. It was her birthday as well and you could tell she was waiting for Cinderella to bring her some things and say Happy Birthday. I think she was turning 3. After Cinderella left her table she looked very disappointed. Finally her Mother asked the waiter if there was something that could be done for her and he did bring a cupcake with a candle in it and a crown. The family then sang Happy Birthday. I know when the family that got the cake was waiting to come in the Maitra D came into the room telling the waiters that they had to get this table ready it was important, then he brought that family in. I don't know who they were (no one famous) but I guess they had money.

Welcome back tigercat! Glad to hear you had a great time on your cruise and that POP worked out well for you. Will you and Bizzybee be able to come to the London DIS Meet at the end of March? I'll be back from my trip and we can compare notes about POP.

I haven't decided whether to put in a room request or just take my chances. I haven't done that yet at any of our on-site stays and so far so good but I've a little concerned with the parking. It's just DH and me so we won't have tons of luggage, what do you think?

Hi there. I'm not sure about the London meet but will ask Bizzibee if she would be able to go. As for the parking, it seemed to me that all the parking at the 50's and 60's was a little bit away but it really did depend on where your room was. We had a ground floor room in the 50's building at the end. We ended up parking at the 60's parking lot as it was closer. When we first checked in and they told us to park at this certain lot we went there and by the time we got to our room we were really tired. We decided to move the car and it ended up being closer. I think you will just have to look around and figure out where the best place to park is. I didn't look at the rest of the resort and the parking as we had so little time there. I am trying to convince my youngest dgrdd that she really wants to spend more time at Disney than her sister and not go on the cruise. I really don't want to go on the cruise so .....I am hoping with 2 yrs. to convince her I am hopeful that I can convince here that she would be luckier than her sister.
