Just a quick note to let you know that we are all okie-dokie and doing well. Can't wait til the morning sickness goes away. Ry is enjoying her summer at all sorts of day camps.
We are contemplating cancelling the 14- day cruise and opting for a trip to England/ Ireland in August instead. The only prob with both trips is the fact that we may not have a birth certificate to get a passport in time. This sucks because we have to book early due to Ryleigh's disabilities!
Hope everyone is having a good summer. Fingers crossed for some August sunshine!

Oh,:(

But if you have to cancel...a new little one is worth it:)
What's your timeline for the trip? A friend of ours "up and decided" to go work - as a nurse - in the US last winter. DH signed her passport app and they "fast-tracked" it...This was a Monday, and she had it IN HER HANDS on Friday...flight left on Sunday.

We were amazed:earseek:

Hi Suzanne  Hope your morning sickness comes to an end really soon :) Why don't you try calling your MP and ask them if there is some way this can be handled quickly after the baby arrives. At least they can give you some insight as to whether you would be OK to book the trip.

I second the motion for August Sunshine ! I'm off on vacation for a good part of the month ... it's amazing how much vacation time you have when you don't go to WDW for a year :p

I was watching the news last night and they were discussing the whole Birth Certificate issue. I can't believe that people are waiting up to 10 months before receiving them.

Anyway, they did mention that you can apply for Emergency Documents which will allow you to travel with an infant without their Birth Certificate. You are only allowed to do this once.

The Family that was interviewed had a baby Oct 2003 and then travelled on vacation at Christmas using these Emergency documents. They now have a trip planned to US but still have not received Birth Certificate for baby so they may have to cancel and cannot apply for Emergency Docs. since they already use this form of ID.

I also heard that the reason that they have not got the birth cerficate is that the mother had not registered the baby's birth with the province, that can cause extra long delays. It takes six weeks for the province to send you something that says that the birth has been registered and then another couple of months to get the birth certificate.

I know that when we went to the US in May I needed to get all three of our birth certificates and it took me only 10 days. I faxed my forms along with the proof that I was travelling, my hotel reservation to the expedited service department and I had all three within 12 days.
