It has always puzzled me how Easter moves!

Now I am not a religious person, but surely the good lord Jesus Christ moved that rock from the cave on a particular day and lived again?

So how the hell does that change each year, or was the date not documented, due to the shock of him rising from the dead, no one actually remembered to make a note of the date?

"What date did he rise from the dead?"
"I dunno, thought you wrote it down"
"Nah, not me, thought you did, was it last Sunday or the Sunday before"

Well you get the picture.

Happy Easter anyway, whenever it may be

Here you go Steve, A simple explanation;) happy Easter:goodvibes

Easter Sunday is the Sunday following the Paschal Full Moon (PFM) date for the year. In June 325 A.D. astronomers approximated astronomical full moon dates for the Christian church, calling them Ecclesiastical Full Moon (EFM) dates. From 326 A.D. the PFM date has always been the EFM date after March 20 (which was the equinox date in 325 A.D.).

To Summarise ...

Easter Sunday date is the Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon (PFM) date
The PFM is the first Ecclesiastical Full Moon (EFM) date after March 20
PFMs are pre-defined (see above)
EFMs are approximated astronomical full moon dates, not actual astronomical full moon dates

Err, thanks Sue

Those long winter evenings in Wales must just fly by!

Thanks gain, I guessed it had got something to do with planet movements. Still should have tho should it. He rose on a particular date, not so many days after a full moon!

Cheers

Steve
