Hello everyone. I just found this board through my knitting forum, and have already spent a lot of time here! DH, DS (2, almost 3) are leaving a week from sunday for our first disney trip, and first real family vaction.
The was a last minute trip, MIL and FIL said last week they would like to send us somewhere warm for vacation, they suggested Disney, and MIL insisted on an all inclusive package. :cool1:
So, we are staying the the port orleans, riverside fomr 2/24-3/1, got the meal plan (which works out well bc ds is not 3 yet, so gets to eat free!) and a 5 day hopper pass. I have been pouring over the web for info, it seems disney is just too much to do in a week! So here is my plan for the week.
sun- Arrive to fl around 2, check in to room, check out the resort and maybe downtown disney, if we are not too tired.

Mon- Animal kingdom- wanted to do breakfast with donald here, but they are all booked up, so I am hoping to get a last minute reservation if someone cancels. Back to the hotel for a nap, then wherever the wind takes us in the PM.

Tues- Magic kingdom, breakfast at crystal palace, back to the hotel for a good nap, then I think we will do the princess and pirates party, even though this is way past bedtime I think it will be worth it!

Wed- DH wants to golf one day, and I figure after a late night DS and I can just play this one by ear, either stay at the resort and do some of their activities, or take off to a park, kind of a free day

Thur- Hollywood studios with lunch with playhouse disney, and spend the rest of the day at the park, nap optional depending on mood.

Fri- unplanned day. I think I would like to check out epcot one day, I have heard epcott is not the best for small kids, so maybe just a quick trip there.

WE fly out early on Sat, then back home to the snow

Does this sound like a doable plan for a trip with a preschooler. I wanted to make sure to have enought structure that we will get to places, but not so much as to feel overwhelmed. What do all you disney veterans think? I can not wait!!!!!:yay:

Sounds fun! I think you are smart to get the hoppers as it may be busy. Also, Epcot offers more than you think -- I hope you are pleasantly surprised!

I think your plan sounds good..we will be down the same time!!!
Oh and Epcot is great, my girls who are 6,5,and 2 LOVE it, and tell people that is their favorite park..lol.

We'll be there the same week! but unfortunately, we'll be staying off property

I'm busy making my Tshirts and some lime green Mickey's to wear, I hope to see some others w/theirs on! I was able to get some MM lime green paint samples from my Home Depot this week so I'm planning to laminate them and have them on all our bags!

Sorry - guess I sound like a crazed DISer...I love this board, I've gotten so many great ideas from here and met some nice people along the way!

Have fun!

Sounds good, but I think you'll be amazed at how much time you can spend in the Magic Kingdom.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and out of seven days, spent two full and three half days there and didn't even hit everything. (And that's not even trying to do the big rides since DD is 4.) That said, we took it very slow and spent A LOT of time getting character autographs.

got the meal plan (which works out well bc ds is not 3 yet, so gets to eat free!)

Just making sure that you understand that DS only eats for "free" at buffets. You're really just sharing from your plate. If you order him something off the menu you have to pay out of pocket.

Have a wonderful trip (your schedule looks very do-able!)

mryppns -- just had to add that I noticed your location/address and it seemed so familiar to me. Duh!! it's the Banks' address from Mary Poppins...clever!

If your DS likes Nemo, Epcot will be great - visit the Living Seas and the Nemo ride, Turtle Talk with Crush - very enjoyable for little ones. The boat ride in Mexico is fun for little ones too, and relaxing for Mom and Dad.
Have a wonderful first trip!:goodvibes
