I am totally unfamiliar with universal's horror nights. are all the attractions open. is the EP worth buying. is it very scary. what special events do they have. any info is appreciated Thx

Check the HHN 2017 website and the HHN sticky at the top of this forum........loads of chat and info on that thread that Keishashadow has set up.

Check out old threads from previous years.

It's a huge amount of fun.

As for EP......we buy the Rush of Fear with EP every year. We can go 10 nights with that ticket, and even though we can go those nights I still wouldn't do them without EP. Queues can be horrendous, even on so called quieter nights.......not for us. EP all the way.

Some rides are open, but it took us most of our time just to do the HHN specific stuff. They will have a bunch of haunted houses that you walk through, some stage shows, and scare zones where there are monsters and characters roaming the streets. For me, the EP would be essential, and if you can swing it, I went a step further and did the RIP tour - I found the crowds to be a little overwhelming, so having a tour guide take us around and get us through the lines quickly was wonderful. Plus I had 13 year olds with me, and I wanted a more controlled situation.

It is BOO-scary, not psychologically scary, IMO. The houses are really well done and if you've seen the movie associated with the house, you feel like you are on that set...well, you and 200 of your closest friends.

Some rides are open (RRR, Gringotts come to mind), and if you get an express pass for HHN, it works on the rides AND houses. It's definitely worth it, in my eyes. My husband and I bought a night of Express, then just bought a second night of Express for our second night this past Friday. I hate the thought of spending so much to go to the event, then have to wait in line. And the lines for houses get LONG. American Horror Story reached crazy high times, last year - like, 280 minutes.

The last time I went (2014), DH and I did one night with the "Stay and Scream" option since we had park tickets. We made an in park reservation for dinner at 4PM and just stayed in the holding area. One night with Express is all we needed to see all the houses, scare zones and shows along with a few rides. It was a long day but worth the price.

Is it scary? It's really scary to me so that's an objective question. This is my 14th year and I'm used to the format but the scareactors still get me from time to time.
