HHN XX: The Lantern Dissected

Hey guys! I know a lot of people have been curious about what the lantern could mean for this year's Halloween Horror Nights XX so I decided to do a little analysis!

The image on their website is kind of hard to see so I used the picture from Universal's e-mail they sent out.

Here is my breakdown/dissection:

What do think?? Any thoughts on what this could mean??

I like your ideas, but I'm afraid you may be "overthinking" it. It would be really cool if you are right, but I read somewhere months ago that the rumor was the theme was going to revolve around a family tree, rather than something representing passing into the underworld.

BTW, I seem to remember also reading that Universal still did have the rights to use Bloody Mary, and that the lapse in obtaining them again wasn't true, but I could be mistaken on that.

Well using that idea of a family tree I think we could also assume that the roots of the "Family Tree" consist of the characters discovered.

There has been a leaked scareacter having a part at a "willow hut" so that is why I was going off of the "Willow" idea.

Keep in mind, I want people to look at the images that I've found and try to figure out what they could mean cause I don't know what they mean I'm just "analyzing". ;-)

Interesting enough, when I go to your website and look at the brightened lantern, the handle looks like Chtulhu to me. The two open areas underneath the top part of the handle appear to be eyes or eye sockets, and the area underneath that appear as tentacles!

top of the lamp looks like the enchanted tree from pans labyrinth
but its such an old film, i doubt it means anything,
but a del torro designed maze (like they did with rob zombie) would be really something, pity hes been tied to the hobbit for most of the last year

the clown and frankenstein i see, not much else though

Not really... I actually write for a blog, so it's a part of my job to find this stuff and write about it.

I'm watching that film tonight for film class. I've got an analysis presentation tomorrow for it. I'll look out for the tree!

It was around the time of Hellbilly Deluxe so either 98 or 99 in hollywood, out of working with Universal came House of 1000 corpses (original made by/for universal, who canned it after completion)

It's my first time going to HHN... so anything is great for me! I just can't wait to see who the characters are going to be and the houses, does it always take that long for them to post... the nights are starting pretty soon ha!

The website is way behind this summer. Usually they start teasing us in June but haven't released a whole lot of information yet. Soon though.
