I would look into getting Express Passes especially if you're only going to be there one night. It's hard to do everything otherwise. If you have an annual pass, make sure you also take advantage of Stay & Scream so you can beat some of the lines. If not...try to get in the line out front as close to 5pm as possible so you aren't spending the evening waiting to get in the gates. The HHN Express Pass will also work on any of the attractions that are open that night. I don't think Express is working for the HR3 right now but might be by that time. Anything else...just ask.
what Metro said.
i buy the express pass for each night i attend hhn.
(with the exception of the night i take the RIP Tour)
do the rides in the daytime prior to hhn.
concentrate on the houses, zones, bill and ted's show and RHPS during the evening event.

since hhn closes at midnight for the night you will be there, buy the epp.
don't waste your time in lines and missing out on the attractions.
if you buy your hhn ticket with a discount, the cost of the EPP, won't hurt as much.
Floridian residents coke promo, stay and scream hhn add on ticket, and AP holders can get discounts on the tickets.
opening weekend/Fr-Sa are low rates as it is.
