It looks like there are several queue areas to kick off HHN. It appears as if Friday and Saturday will be very busy. Express sold out Friday and RIP Tours sold out both nights.

1. General Admission- At turnstiles with 6:30 opening. It looks like Universal will herd you to the right down Rodeo Dr/Hollywood Blvd and try a capture at Jack's Carnival of Carnage in front of Mel's.

2. Stay and Scream- Holding area near the Mummy? Great first shot at Vampyr and the sound studio houses.

3. Annual Passholders party- Amity/Jaws area. 5 pm entry with early access to a select house (Friday the 13th Camp Blood?)

4. Ultimate Horror Party- Amity/Jaws queue 5-7. Priority access to nearby houses? Fri. the 13th? Texas Chainsaw? Jack's Funhouse? The Thing?
2 free drinks with souvenir cup. What do you do with the cup? Locker? Will they sell discounted drinks all night if you have "the" cup?

5. RIP Tour Non-exclusive- Leaves at 8

6. RIP Tour exclusive can leave as early as 7.

7. General Admission arriving anytime after 6:30. These people wonder why the lines are so long but they deserve to stand in line!

In the past there has been opening scare-amonies with a parade. This doesn't seem to appear on the radar screen?

We plan to case the joint Friday during the day to at least identify the house entrances. After dark it is hard to figure what line is for what house. Are the entrances to Jack's Funhouse and the Thing between MIB and BTTF? Or is the Thing's entrance by Barney?

Annual passholders are encouraged with priority seating to attend the first Bill and Ted (Party on, dudes!) so the Amity area will be congested after that lets out until closing.

The weather looks like cloudy and humid with showers possible for Friday night. I'm thinking about a wide brimmed hat so we can keep on truckin' if it rains. ("As if we would ever stop truckin'" Homer J. Simpson)

This will be our first time not on the RIP Tour since the Director and the first time without Express Passes on Friday. We will be at the Ultimate Horror Party. Anyone have any suggestions/pointers/tips for a touring plan?

We attended opening weekend last year and it was chaos and lots of fun. We waited in the Stay and Scream area until they opened up one of the Sound Studios. Once we finished the first house, the line just kept going to the second house. I think we saw at least three houses before the gates opened at 6:30 PM. We went to the first show of B & T for the priority seating for passholders. Again, massive chaos as it was hard to separate the AP holders from the other guests waiting. It seemed like one mad rush of peole. Our seats were decent. Soooo much fun! I suppose my point is that while I hope otherwise, I am going to prepare myself again for the chaos. It is the opening weekend and they are working out the kinks. Just go with the flow!

Now, does anyone have any clout to do something about the showers scheduled for Friday night?

I'm arriving around 3pm on Friday and heading to the Studios. I have EP's for that night and will be at the Passholder's area as well.

I haven't heard anything about a parade this year but that doesn't bother me that much.

I hope the weather cooperates...nothing like walking around in the rain then going into a house that's freezing!

I wish I lived in Orlando still so I could just get a Frequent Fear pass & go every night - or even better yet - WISH I STILL WORKED THERE!!! :p

No HHN for us this year. No one wanted to ante up the $$$$ necessary to properly do HHN and they took too long to tell me "yes I want to go" so this Travel Agent's office is CLOSED.

Everyone going needs to post a gagillion pics so I can share them with my friends and let them know the fun I had to miss out on ;)

On the survival guide posted on the website it states that you can choose to either watch the show or head to the sound stage houses.

NOOOOOO!
Going to HHN this Friday night..there better be no rain!
Quick question..I was reading some other posts about the stay and scream, someone said they did three houses before it opened to the public at 6:30.How is this possible?
So, you wait in the "holding area" until they clear the non ticket holders out (what time does this start?)
Then they let you out prior to the gates opening?
Do I have this right?

Thanks :scared1:

How does Express work? I bought my passes at the park a month ago and the express pass is on a card that looks like a park ticket.

Do I have to trade in this card to use express or am I good to go? I am doing the passholder party and the like and will probably be there by 4:30 so I am not too worried.

The way they work is you locate me at the party and hand them over.

No, there will likely be a team member at the entrance of each attraction that will take your card and slide it through a card reader. That will make it no good to use at that attraction again. Do not use the express pass unless the wait is greater than 15 minutes. That will allow you to do the attraction a second time later in the evening.

THANK YOU!!! motherfletcher for this good information. I'm a first timer going opening night and I fear that I will be lostlostlost. There is going to be another entry point that I don't think you noted, and I'm wondering if you have any ideas re this one: we added on the $10 IOA admission at 4pm to our ticket and express pass...So I plan on going into IOA at 4 on the dot. The info I was given states that we will bypass the general admission line and enter US from a ponit in Dr. Suess land. Howver, no time was given for this 'opening'.

I'd like to be able to see a few houses before general admission people come in. Can anyone tell me the approximate time, years passed, when the stay and screamers were given the go ahead to start touring?

For those of you who will be there Friday night...can I give you my cell phone number and ask that you call me when they are about to release you?????
Pretty please?????

I think that Stay and Scream will get about a half hour jump on General Admission which officially opens at 6:30 but some say could be sooner. My best guess is that SAS will release around 5:45 to 6.
We are going to TC for lunch so might see you there.

Hey guys, dont forget that they have lanyards avail at guest services for $5 each. We just slip our express passes in, facing the clear part and then the team member just scans them. If they need to mark your EP, they will tell you to have them ready. Plus they are a really cool souviner since they have "halloween horror nights" all along the 'string'. PLUS some years they are glow in the dark! :cool1:

Yes this will complicate things a little. The 3 sound stage houses will be congested early. I'm not prepared for the chaos. The last few years we have gone on the RIP Tour and didn't have to worry about missing a house. I'm concerned about touring the SS houses when starting from the AP party in Amity.

The AccuWeather forecast is getting better:

Friday is to be hot, hot, HOT! Feels like 100!:furious: But if an afternoon thunderstorm cools things down and helps clear out the park the evening could be alright with a cloudy, feels like 77. Cooler Saturday.
I was kind of hoping someone may have noticed where the attraction entrances are and report so I don't have trek the park Friday in 100 degree weather!

Still have my HHN lanyard from years gone by. Long enough ago that they gave them away free when you bought the express pass booklet.

Anyone have a good idea where I can stick my cup? ...er... We get a free cup early at the Ultimate Horror Party and I don't want to carry it around from house to house. I never use lockers. Can you put something in a locker at 6 and pick it up at 11:30?

Does the cup have a closed looping handle? Could you bring a keyring or ribbon to just tie the cup handle to a belt loop?

Sorry, this HHN is confusing to me. Do you mean that you can pay for the HHN, then the express pass (extra) and then for $10 more get to go to the IOA park? Is IOA open the same time as HHN? Can you do this for Universal Studios also? Thanks for the info. :o)

I wouldn't worry too much about missing the houses on opening weekend. I went last year during opening weekend and went to the AP party and we managed to have everything, including B&T, done by 10pm. That left us with a few hours to go through some of the houses again and just enjoy the scarezones. We didn't have an Express Pass either. We never get EP, even when we go on peak nights.

I can't wait!

:welcome: :disrocks: SpyderPig. Normally you can get all your questions answered but I guess the first night of HHN is always a question mark.

I'm seeing posts on IOACentral saying to do the SS houses first from the Ultimate Horror Party in Amity? This doesn't make much sense. If I was going to do that I'd queue up at the NY holding area.

The holding area at IOA will be between Cat in the Hat and One Fish Two Fish and you should get a jump on general admission to the sound studio houses.

I'll try the belt loop cup thing.

AccuWeather now says feels like 103 degrees tomorrow. Like walking on the surface of the sun. :sunny: The afternoon thunderstorm also includes evening now.

I was just going to post this. We are leaving shortly for the airport and I thought I would check. Today is also supposed to feel like 103. Lows are only 72. I thought it was hot the first week in August this past summer! I can handle it for 3 days. I just would not be able to handle it for a week again!

Sooooooo excited!!!!!     :dance3: :dance3:
