It looks like there are several queue areas to kick off HHN. It appears as if Friday and Saturday will be very busy. Express sold out Friday and RIP Tours sold out both nights.
1. General Admission- At turnstiles with 6:30 opening. It looks like Universal will herd you to the right down Rodeo Dr/Hollywood Blvd and try a capture at Jack's Carnival of Carnage in front of Mel's.
2. Stay and Scream- Holding area near the Mummy? Great first shot at Vampyr and the sound studio houses.
3. Annual Passholders party- Amity/Jaws area. 5 pm entry with early access to a select house (Friday the 13th Camp Blood?)
4. Ultimate Horror Party- Amity/Jaws queue 5-7. Priority access to nearby houses? Fri. the 13th? Texas Chainsaw? Jack's Funhouse? The Thing?
2 free drinks with souvenir cup. What do you do with the cup? Locker? Will they sell discounted drinks all night if you have "the" cup?
5. RIP Tour Non-exclusive- Leaves at 8
6. RIP Tour exclusive can leave as early as 7.
7. General Admission arriving anytime after 6:30. These people wonder why the lines are so long but they deserve to stand in line!
In the past there has been opening scare-amonies with a parade. This doesn't seem to appear on the radar screen?
We plan to case the joint Friday during the day to at least identify the house entrances. After dark it is hard to figure what line is for what house. Are the entrances to Jack's Funhouse and the Thing between MIB and BTTF? Or is the Thing's entrance by Barney?
Annual passholders are encouraged with priority seating to attend the first Bill and Ted (Party on, dudes!) so the Amity area will be congested after that lets out until closing.
The weather looks like cloudy and humid with showers possible for Friday night. I'm thinking about a wide brimmed hat so we can keep on truckin' if it rains. ("As if we would ever stop truckin'" Homer J. Simpson)
This will be our first time not on the RIP Tour since the Director and the first time without Express Passes on Friday. We will be at the Ultimate Horror Party. Anyone have any suggestions/pointers/tips for a touring plan?
