On the 24th I'm going to be going to HHN, I know that it is a peak night, as it is Saturday. My question is, what are some tips for me to use as I am taking a friend of mine to HHN and it will be a first for both of us, so any tips on what to expect and what to do to experience the most of HHN would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Assuming you don't have a way into the park before it closes, make sure you get in line around 5pm so you won't have to wait very long outside. If you can afford it, purchase the Express Passes so you won't have to wait in the long house lines. Don't worry about the rides...do the houses and shows. Try to eat before going into the park so you won't have to spend time on dinner.

I was realy hoping you would get more replies. I was watching because this will be our first time also. There are tons of Disney experts and thanks to them we haver mastered all Disney parks. Other then get an express pass which we can not do this time I am having a hard time getting much info. Good Luck and I hope you have a great time. :goodvibes

Thanks for asking. I am wanting to know which houses to go to first and what order to do things in so that I can make the best of my time. So far what I have come up with is. Do the wolfman house and Frankeinstien house first and then head to saw. However I have read that you should wait till dark to see the houses. I bought the IOA 15.00 dollar ticket thinking I would get a head start but not sure now. Anyway that is where we will be. I am not sure what time we will get into HHN. now. I was thinking 6:00. Looking forward to it though.

You should seriously consider purchasing the HHN Express Pass. It will save you quite a bit of time then standing in the regular line.

The Wolfman, Dracula and Frankenstein have entrances near each other, and all three exit out into the same location. The Wolfman entrance is near the Jimmy Neutron & HRRR rides. The Dracula entrance uses the Twister entrance. The Frankenstein entrance is between Twister and Revenge of the Mummy, near where The Ghostbuster outdoor show used to play. All three exit out next to the Twister store.

Leave it to Cleaver is located next to the Beetlejuice stage, which is being used for the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Saw is located next to the Fear Factor stage, which is where Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween show is at. Make sure that you don't go to either of those two houses as the shows are letting out, as the crowds leaving the shows will usually flow to the nearby houses.

On the other side of the park are The Spawning, Chucky and Silver Screams. The entrances to Silver Screams and Chucky is near the ET ride, while the entrance to the The Spawning is near MIB. However, Silver Screams exits out near the ET ride, while Chucky and The Spawning both exit out near MIB. In my opinion, out of these three houses, you should do Silver Screams first, which will exit you out near the entrance to Chucky. Do Chucky, which will exit you out near the entrance to The Spawning. Then do the Spawning. Doing this in that order will cut down on the amount of walking time.

If you want to do Bill & Ted's (and you should because it's pretty funny), and have purchased an Express Pass, you can use it on the first show only. If you get in line a 1/2 hour early with express, you should get very good seats!

Saw is by far the most popular house, so if you're not going to get Express, hightail it over there after doing one or two other houses (assuming you get in right at six...do one or two early ones and hit Saw when it opens at 6:30).

On the flipside, the one that rarely gets a line is Silver Screams, which is sad because it's a great house. If it has a long time posted, ask the person at the entrance as it may be wrong. You should really ask before getting in ANY line, as the posted times have been wildly inaccurate this year.

If there is any way you can get in as a day visitor, I totally recommend it because you can knock out two or three of the soundstage houses right at or even a little before 6. That is what we do, then head to Cleaver, then off to Saw.

I think it's because of the location of the queue...it's hard to see. I almost missed it on opening night. :rolleyes1

Yes, and it has Chucky right next door so even if people see the two, they say "Ooooo, let's do Chucky!" And of course that one lets out all the way down by Spawning, so they do that one next and never return to the area to do Silver Screams. Too bad so sad for them, but better for me since I love that house so it's nice to have minimal waits. SS = most underrated house of HHN 2009.

Thanks for the info.:goodvibes This is our third trip down this year and we have one more to go. So I can not purchase the express pass this year. However if we like it I will work it in to our plans next year. We decided to do this at the last minute. Does anyone know what entrance we will be getting in if we are in IOA? :confused3We bought the 15.00 pass because it said we would skip the front gate. And does anyone know for sure what time we get in? One more thing. If we go to IOA at 4:00 is there a chance that we can ride anything without long lines? If not what should we see while we are there? Never have been to Universal yet.

You're welcome for the HHN info, but I can't answer the IOA question because I've never done the IOA Stay & Scream option. Hopefully, someone else will have that information for you.

I did this 3 years ago - so my brain might be a little fuzzy.

We tried to (and succeeded) at getting into IOA at I wanna say around 2pm. This was on a Saturday around my birthday (10/9) and it wasn't busy at ALL. Rode Hulk twice, Dr Doom, Jurassic, both dragons, and watched a show (I can't remember which one) and got into HHN at around 6:30. If we would've known what we were doing we would've tried to get in earlier. But...

BTW - the entrance is by one fish two fish in Seuss Landing...

Oh thank you. I did not even think about trying to get in earlier but I will now. so I guess we will show up around 2:00. It is a Thursday so maybe it wont be to bad.:thumbsup2

Please remember that my getting in early may have been a fluke. Don't get me wrong I AM gonna try to get in early again this year - I just don't want you to get your heart set on entering in at 2pm and then getting turned away...

But yes on a Thursday I would think it'd be pretty slow in the parks.

Hmm, they must have changed something from week 1 because Chucky exited out near the entrance to Silver screams. The park was cordoned off for this special event so maybe they routed Chucky's exit in a different direction?

Interesting! Was The Spawning open? The exits from Chucky and The Spawning were merging last weekend.

Week one it might have been different because they had a Media Day and celebrity appearances. I don't recall the exact exits because we were on an RIP tour that weekend but that would be my guess.

What rides have been open during HHN? We are going on Thursday night and I want to ride some rides if possible. Not a huge fan of things jumping out at me or scaring me, but my co-workers are. I will probably go off by myself and ride what is open. What are the ride lines like during HHN?

The only attractions during HHN are: MIB, Jaws and Revenge of the Mummy.
