We aren't going but I found it interesting looking over the ticket details. In the past, I had always known a Stay and Scream ticket to be not only cheaper but an advantage over a standard ticket as you can access the houses earlier. In the past, they advertised this through the HHN website and ticket sales, however this year I find no information that leads me to believe there will be a holding area. Both standard tickets and Stay and Scream tickets say gates open at 6:30pm...

Normaly its the main gate that opens at that time. This year,I don't know myself.Your correct, the website is very vage!

There has to be a holding area or else there would be no "stay". I think you're reading too much into that.

There can be a holding area but they don't have to let you out early. I called today and was told by two different reps that regardless of whether you have a stay and scream ticket or a regular ticket, you get access to HHN at the same time.

The two perks for S&S were getting a cheap ticket if you already planned to do the regular park during the day and having access to the houses before regular admission guests. Seems they are doing away with the early access this year.

I'd be willing to bet the farm that those TMs were misinformed. I don't see them suddenly doing away with a perk they've had for more than a decade.

Exactly...if there is no holding area, there IS no S & S.

Like I said, it sounds like there will still be a holding area but the people in that area will be released at the same time as the people at the front gate.

In the past, Universal has advertised the perk of being released early through S&S. This year their website is void of anything saying early and in fact it specifically says you will be let in at 6:30pm, the same time as people holding regular tickets. Add to that two reps told me S&S customers will be let in at the same time as regular ticket holders, it seems like a sure thing to me that the only benefit this year is a cheaper admission ticket if you were already going to a park.

Then again, they could have just stopped advertising early release because technically they can't guarantee it. I was talking to a couple last year who had done S&S the day before and the park was having technical difficulties with the houses and they were not able to let the S&S people out early.

I'm going over this weekend and will what I can find out.

We'll find out for sure next Friday or I have a hard time believing the holding area will be from 5pm to 6:30pm this year. I don't really remember specifically anything on the website about what time the holding area was released but I could have missed it.
