HHN sold out tonight.

Doesn't surprise me at all. We went on Thursday and it was crazy busy. We got to do only 3 of the houses and no shows.

i read that this past thursday, the park extended the hhn hours to 2 am.
(i read about house line hours being over 2 hour waits.)

during hell week, hhn does sell out.
it didn't surprise me to see it on UO facebook today.

i did hell week one time.

have avoided that time period ever since.

Horror Nights Archives Facebook page is reporting 150 minutes for Silent Hill and Walking Dead.:scared1:

This is true, I was there Thursday night and somehow I was able to get into five houses (was able to do Gothic twice) see both shows and get a couple rides in. Wait times reached 150 for the houses, I had a pretty good night but I don't want to do hell week ever again.

Crowds came early in the event this year and I think the rest of the nights will be jammed. I might get the ROF pass next year...go during the first couple of weeks and be done with it. It's getting too busy to really enjoy yourself and unless they open both parks...which they won't do...it's only going to get worse.

increase the houses back to 8 might help the crowd situation for next year's event.

today is the UCF day trip.
guessing many will stay over for hhn tonight.

probably another big crowd tonight.

Oh it will help alright...it will bring more people next year. Having eight houses won't keep people away. Once the construction at Transformers is finished and the walls come down, the traffic flow should improve but will do nothing about the nightly crowds.

hours for tonight's hhn has been extended to 2:00 am.

they are expecting crowds again.

I agree! Having an additional house would help spread out the crowds between the house queues. I also suspect that the lack of fixed scare zones is partially responsible for the increased queue times too. Without knowing where or when roaming scare actors will be encountered, people will flow directly from house to house. In the past, knowing where the scare zones were, people could plan on interacting with the zones scare actors, slowing down their flow from house to house.

I never thought about the lack of scare zones contributing to longer lines at the houses! That makes sense IMO.

What about the open rides? Has there been any news on how crowded those are?

in the past years, the fixed scare zones, were great!
an act/entertainment of its own.

the roving scare actors didn't thrill me this year.
it was a hit or miss in catching them.
the SA's seemed to zero in on certain individuals and i missed a lot of what they were doing when they were tracking down a specific guest.

i am one that prefers the fixed scare zones.
like patster said, many stop and watch the SA in action when they had certain stations.

We said the same thing last night. It was just ridiculous and made us think about whether we really wanted to spend the extra money for nights that would just be miserable.

Here are some examples of wait times yesterday. Before 7pm, Horrors was already at 45 minutes and Cooper was listed at 20 but was more like 45. By 8:30pm, the shortest house wait time was 75 minutes and the 9:30pm update had 1 house at 90 minutes, 5 houses at 120 and Walking Dead was at 150. Now it did get calmer by 12:30am (from the HHN alerts) but we left before 9pm because it was just so crowded and annoying in the park.

I did HHN this past Saturday (10/20) and it was my first peak night in like 10 years,I was totally worried we would never get all the houses in with the huge crowds I was expecting.I wasn't buying a $100 express pass so we went in with mixed optimism and worry. We jumped over from IOA at 5:45 and were let go at about 6 or so.All I can say is we never knocked the houses out as fast as we did this year, all 7 done by 9:15-9:30!!All of them except for two were less than 15-20 minutes, the other two took close to 30 minutes, even last year on a non peak night I remember waiting around 30 plus minutes for the second house of the day at around 6:15pm.This doesn't mean there were no crowds as we saw waits of 150 minutes around 10-10:30.It just seems we seriously lucked out,we went to do the Penn and Teller house with a posted 45 minute wait that took like 15-20 minutes and then when we went to the Alice Cooper or House of Horror house,Copper had 45 minutes and House of Horror had 60 minutes,we did Cooper which took less than 30 minutes and then when we went back to House of Horror the wait was down to 30 minutes which did take about that long. The rest of the houses we did early in the day and were walk ons to 15-20 minutes max.I guess getting in there as soon as it opened up really paid off,we did want to leave some time to do some rides, eat and do Bill and Teds after the houses but all we were able to ride was MIB as waits for some of the rides got up to like 2 hours for some rides.Bill and Ted's was below par but you still have to do it to see what they come up with,we didn't do the other show.

I was there on Saturday as well. We did have Express Pass. By 9PM we finished every house, did Bill & Ted (which I loved), 20 Penny Circus (better than we thought), Mummy, MIB, and Rip Ride Rockit.

At 10PM it was the most crowded I have ever seen a theme park in my life. We left and saw THE THING over at AMC 20 in CityWalk.

Tried Fried Oreos, Fried Peanut Butter, Jelly and Banana sandwhich, Twisted Tater, and a blood bag.

Most interesting part of the day was arriving early and being part of the Preview Center for what ended up being a pilot for an upcoming show on SyFy called DEFIANCE. I thought it was fantastic and we ended up getting paid $40 to watch TV and give our thoughts. That's my kind of job!

I've taken no chances. I bought the express passes for next Saturday even though the price kills me. If we go and the lines are crazy, I'll be mad that I didn't. What's money anyway? ;)
