I went last night with an employee that had a ticket for the preview. It was only from 7:30 to 11 so I didnt get a chance to do everything. I went on Friday the 13th, Vampires one, Jason, The clown house, and saw the Bill and Teds show. This was a scaled down version to some degree with not as many scare actors as normal but I went free so I'm not complaining. I had not seen any of the associated movies to the characters but still enjoyed the scenery and scares. In years past, I noticed most of the houses were really dark w/ strobe lights throughout. This year, at least the ones I went on, were a little more lit so you could see where you were going (probably had accidents- I ran into a wall a few times it was so dark) and strobe lights in just a few rooms rather than the whole house.
The longest wait was 30 min for Jason. I enjoyed this house. It had the 'camp' atmosphere as well as around 10 jasons in the house. One major complaint about this that I hope they do differently once it gets started- about 6 fans in sight in the que but only 1 on...incredibly hot. One good thing- a water fountain near the entrance to the house..I needed it.. My fav. house was The clown house- very well done and the glasses for the clown o vision was fun. It was very colorful with clowns everywhere and a lot to look at. Freddy was the first one I went on and was just 'ok.' I'm sure people have different experiences and it wasnt a normal night but not many scary people..saw freddy only once...regular staff workers inside the house scared me more than anything else.ha.they apologized for creeping up behind me. I didnt like Vampires at all but I already knew I wouldn't going into it. It was just a very short line so I went on. Girls dancing around/bar scene like they had in past ones. I was disappointed in Bill and Teds..I loved it in years past but this year I felt like it was one big plug for universal/nbc. This year, it was more tv shows/socialites than movie characters...of the movie characters, I had only seen 1 of them before. Also, before they had Captain Jack Sparrow but said something about not being able to have him this year so I guess Disney didnt like him being used..although I'm sure they had Disney's permission before. It was entertaining but not that funny. I spent a lot of time waiting in line for the show and seeing the show.. I wish I skipped it and went on more houses instead.
I plan on going back sometime next month and seeing the remaining 4 houses I have yet to see.
