Hi everyone! I'm plannig a trip to Universal at the end of October! We arrive on Oct 24. I have a few questions about HHN: (p.s. no kids with us)

Does it start after the park closes?
What does it entail?
How scary is it?
Is there extra cost for this?

thanks for all your help!

Yes, it starts after the park closes.

It entails both haunted houses that you walk through, "scare zones" in the streets full of scareactors, some shows, and general creepiness throughout the park.

How scary it is depends on you and how easily you are rattled. If you can't handle a horror movie on TV, you'd probably find this terrifying. If you like to visit haunted houses and let people try to scare you, you'll think it's a blast.

DH & I both think it's a very cool event however, where my husband takes it all in & loves the atmosphere, I'm far more prone to fall victim to the scareactors who often cause me to jump, yell, scream, and/or run away because they are so good. That being said, it's a fun kind of scary...a short adrenaline burst then you laugh at yourself for falling victim.

It is a separately ticketed event; see the website link that F-L-A provided and you can review your options (they have several pricing structures to choose from).

I'm not saying that some people can't be absolutley terrified by HHN. Last year was my first year of HHN. I am not a fan of scary movies and I am startled pretty easy. Nothing last year was truely scary. The scariest part is a startle factor, not a terror factor.

Like I said, it all depends on the person

Thanks for the reply. And just for clarification, I can tape the scare zones and shows, just not houses?

Cool. Thanks.

Actually to clarify this 100 percent they do not advise taping of anything besides the shows at HHN. I've seen them usher out people with video cameras that have lights on them outta the scarezones. As long as you don't have a light on it to blind the scareactors and give away their spots then you shall be fine I would think.

Thanks for the info. I don't have a light for my video camera so that shouldn't be a problem. It does have a nightshot feature that records everything with a green hue should I need it.

Yeah, sometimes it'll be alright to ask to take a picture/recording of/with a scareactor, but only if they're alright with it. If they dont want to do it, don't bother them. Most of the time they probably will, so i'd say your chances are pretty good.
