After reading a lot about HHN I think my son and I would love to visit during HHN. We will also be staying at RPR this Aug. Please help me with the following questions.
1. We are planning to stay onsite Oct 29-1. During the HHN will the park be open for all of the rides.

2. Since we staying onsite can we use our room key for FOTL.

3. Can you purchase the 7day pass and this will admit you into the HHN. If not what ticket do I purchase.

4. Will the rides be operating during this time.

5. Share any other information you might think that would help

Thanks!!

HHN runs from 6:30 to midnight on non peak nights and 6:30 to 2:00 am during peak nights. The park is open during regular park hours. Universal Studios will close at 5:00 PM and Islands of Adventure will either close at 6 or 7. I don't remember.

The room key does not work during special events which is what HHN is. HHN is considered a special event because it is separate admission after the normal park hours. The park will close and reopen to only guests with HHN tickets.

There are stay n scream HHN tickets that you can purchase that go along with your admission ticket. Some attractions are open during HHN but not all.

So if IOA closes at 6:00 and reopen at 6:30 do you stay in the park until 6:30 or do you leave out and go thru the gate again...Thanks

HHN will not be at IOA this year. Only at USF. You can stay in the park from five to six thirty if you have a stay and scream ticket. If not, then you need to exit the park when it closes at 5:00 PM and then reenter at 6:30 PM when it opens back up. If you stay in the park you can get a head start on the haunted houses before the crowds come in.

Thanks MAD and LITTLE for answering my ????:worship:

How is HHN at IOA compared to US

2005 was the last year HHN was in IOA and with the HP construction, I doubt it will ever be staged at IOA again. I think IOA is great for HHN with all the landscaping but it does take a lot of walking to get around.

Just for clarification: If you are already in USF with a day ticket, you do not have to leave at closing if you also have any HHN ticket. Instead, you will be directed to a waiting area when you show your HHN ticket to park staff.

::yes::

Staying in the Stay and Scream area is a good idea since HHN gets very crowded even on non-peak nights,so being able to do a house or two before the event is officially open is a pretty big deal since lines can get very long and unless you purchase an express pass it will be very difficult to do all the houses and shows in one night. You can do all the houses and shows without an express pass but you have to time your night right by choosing what times you'll see the shows and eat.As far as the rides being open, many of the major ones will but they will also have huge waits and doing them will prevent you from getting all the HHN stuff done.

Which rides do you think will be open this year? Are the rides generally packed, or is it easier to get on? As I never go during peak season, I may never get to ride Jaws or RRnR at night. This could be a great opportunity to do it.

Last year, the rides open were Revenge of the Mummy, Disaster, Jaws, MIB and The Simpsons Ride. I would expect RRnR to be included this year.

If you have the HHN Express pass, you may use the pass on the attractions that are open as well as the houses but I wouldn't worry about doing any of the rides at HHN...you can do those during the day. We won't know which attractions will be open until we know where the houses are located and if the queue will be used for HHN instead of the attraction.

Just a side comment...assuming the HR3 will be open by HHN, I can't imagine what the wait time will be...Express line or not! Talk about scary!

I love riding Jaws in the dark at HHN it's so much fun at night. :goodvibes

I agree :thumbsup2 ... it's a much different ride at night than during the day

One thing to keep in mind though is the Jaws queue is usually used as part of a house during HHN, so you might think there is a line up for Jaws, but in reality, it's the line up for the house!

We will be going to HHN for the first time this year! we are going to be in orlando oct 5-11, so our nights are flexible. I have a few questions:

1. Should we go on a non peak night or a peak night for the extra hours?

2. How much is the Express Pass usually and is it worth it?

3. If the Express Pass is worth it, should we use it or do the Frequent Fear Pass instead?

any help would be appreciated! just to clarify, we are only going to Universal for the HHN, we will not be there during the day.

1.) Go on a non-peak night as the Express passes are very expensive on the peak nights. You will have two nights (10/5 and 10/11) that are considered non-peak. I would stick with those two...if you plan on going both nights.

2.) The Express passes are worth it since the lines...even on "slower" nights can get to well over an hour!

3.) If you're going to do more than one night, you should probably purchase the Frequent Fear pass since it's cheaper than buying two tickets. However, it has nothing to do with the Express lines so you would not be able to use the Express access with a FF pass. Think of the FF pass as an "Annual Pass" for HHN. And also remember...the FF pass is NOT valid for peak nights...only off-peak nights so you couldn't use it Friday or Saturday.

It's a shame you won't be able to take advantage of Stay & Scream which would really help you avoid the lines out front and it gets you into the houses much quicker. But since you aren't going to be in the park when it closes, you will have to stand outside by the mob.
