I have been curious about HHN for years and last year was the first year DH and I went. I am a jumper and a screamer but love horror movies and Halloween. We did the S&S last year (after doing the Unmasking the Horror Tour) and the first house, I was screaming my head off (Silent Screams) and was clinging to my hubby like crazy..I got out of the house and was so adrenalized..like a roller coaster, except they don't scare me at all. We did three more houses (Chucky, Saw and Leave it to Cleaver) and I got braver with each one. I was looking around and not tripping up my hubby because I was walking so close to him.

Are we going this year? Well..I would say so and I know if I don't go, I will regret it. Do I know it isn't real? Yep..I really do. Am I freaking myself out already? Yes..yes I am.

Anyone else have this love/hate relationship with HHN?

I'm just the oposite.I go just to see if they can scare me and the whole atmosphere of it.A few times they have got me..But that's why I love HHN,the unexpected.I hope this year they will come thru and give me a few scares!!:thumbsup2

Exactly, I love getting scared. I love to get engulfed by the park and its atmosphere. I love redoing a house and looking at every single detail (chains, walls, scent, etc). It keeps pulling me back!!!!!!!!!!

Marquibiri :thumbsup2

screaming in fear = good halloween fun:goodvibes

OP u r not alone;)'cept i don't cling, im more of the find the tall person & cower behind them type:laughing:

Nope! I LOVE HHN and make sure I am there every year. I love being scared and I look forward to October more than any other time of the year.

I am almost exactly the same as you.

I LOVE horror films. I have never been to a HHN because I am too chicken but this year we get tix with our AP's so I figure I will try it. I am def a screamer and a jumper so I really don't know if I can face the houses but I will try to.

Am I right in thinking they will never touch you? Just jump out at you?

I go from thinking I'll be fine to I will be leaving in tears lol. Hubby says if it really gets me we can just leave so it should be ok.

As a male, it seems that I usually get overlooked from the scareactors. However, i have been singled out by scareactors a few times.

The first was at The Body Collectors 2 house. One of the "gentlemen" pointed at me through a scare opening and then proceeded to follow me through a portion of the maze, jumping out at me at random attack spots.

The second time was at the Dead Exposure when 2 scareactors worked together to block me in. I had to wait until they seperated before proceeding.

This past HHN, I found myself being teamed up on by a couple of scareactors at the Horrorwood Die-In by a girl ghoul carrying a leg and the killer from My Bloody Valentine. Afterwards, the girl ghoul agreed to have her picture taken with me.

Fun times those were! I'm looking forwards to the fun times I'll have at this year's HHN.

I am glad to hear I am not the only one (though I am definitely in the minority here peeps). Wanna be scared? I freaked out the couple behind us with my screaming and jumping. The guy asked which house I was going to next so he could go another way because I was scarier than the house.:lmao:

Are they supposed to touch you? No. Was I touched? Yep. We were in Silent Screams in the scene from The Strangers. The guy was chasing me around a coffee table and I backed up into a wall...and then the wall wasn't there (one of those things that moves) and the brunette got really close to me and moved my hair off my shoulder. My shriek made her jump.

I keep telling myself "They are only actors...they are only actors"..but the theming and the lights and air and everything make it seem real.

Yes...Go and try..heck, if nothing else, go to see Bill and Ted. That was awesome.

wow, never heard of any TMs touching anybody, i'd freak...bad enough the mr gets his chuckles by startling me:rolleyes1

Haha, I've never been touched, but in Silver Screams in the room for Shaun of the Dead I think, one of the scareactors growled at me, and I'm one to have fun with this kinda stuff so I growled back, and he decided then to follow me out of the room. The was kinda creepy haha. But I've never been touched.

It seems I get touched one time every year. I have no problem with it, I think it's a blast, like when the Camp Crystal Lake Counselor tapped me on the shoulder to tell me that she was gonna kill me. One year my "touch" was a high five with Frankenstein's monster!

I'm also in the mental frame where I'm absolutely terrified and absolutely ecstatic about it. I can't stand being scared in real life, but during HHN - I scream my head off, then laugh, laugh, laugh. October in Orlando is the best!!

That's a great way of looking at it (and thanks for understanding my mentality)..I think I may try the scream and laugh this year.

Ok so I got to say this thread isn't helping my fear LOL!

Stories of being blocked and chased around tables???? :confused3 FREAKY!

I'm starting to think I really am too much of a sissy for the houses themselves.

That sounds like us last year. My husband asked the couple infront of us when we left where they were going, as they were so entertaining! It was after leaving one of the soundstage houses...

It was after we left Silent Screams.
