HHN, can you stay in IOA until it opens with ticket?

I saw something similar to this question posted previously, so forgive if its redundant. I heard that if you have a HHN ticket and are in IOA during the day, some attractions or restaurants stay open so that you don't have to leave and come back. Can anyone confirm or deny this? It would be nice to just stay and have dinner until HHN begins. Also, how much do the HHN express tickets costs that work like the FOTL passes. I have heard that the lines are long and this seems like it may be the way to go.

yes you can, last year they held guests in either the enchanted oak or the discovery center until just before the official opening. this year should be the same, except it will most likely just be the enchanted oak as the discovery center is one of the houses this year.

Thank you, and one more if I may. Do those that stay inside get into the houses before the gate or is it a mad rush. Also, did you use the express tickets or need them. I heard that Oct. 3rd will probably be very busy.

I'm curious about this, too. I had originally planned on staying, but I see that IOA closes at 5 the night we'll be there and doesn't reopen for HHN until 7. Two hours stuck in the Enchanted Oak seems like a bit of a wait.

At a set (or unset) time, once the park is clear of day guests, and everything is ready to go, they allow the S&S guests to roam around. Dont forget, everyone entering IOA through the maingate has to have all their bags checked and go through the metal detectors. That can take some time.

Halloween express will cost around $25 per person, I'm guessing. They allow one express access per attraction (House, ride, show).

Last year with the stay and scream they would let you out at around 6 pm. That was dependent on when security called all clear. They opened the houses in phases. I was able to get 3 houses done before they even opened the main gates and let the other guests in.

Talk about maximizing your time!!!!!

i think i see a plan developing here. Thanks Rob, hope its that way this year. I dont want to get stuck in the eatery for two hours.

Although I didn't start the thread, lemme throw out a thank you as well to everyone who responded.

Last year was my first HHN, and I have to say I was a little overwhelmed by the massive amounts of people there (and it was a "non-peak" night). In the five hours we were there, I managed to get through exactly ONE of the haunts (the one in Jurassic Park, which felt more like a line attraction). Hopefully hanging out in the Oak (which I love anyways) will give me a much needed advantage that I desperately needed last year.

And I guess we'll get those express passes while we're at it, just to be on the safe side (worse case scenario, we'll give them to someone stuck in a line).
