HHN @ both parks next year

orlandosentinel.com reports today that 'some employees' estimated crowds at 45 or 46K the Sat. before Halloween.
I can't fathom that! That's a heck of a lot of peeps at IOA. It must have been a FREAKIN' zoo!

I also heard there were a lot of complaints from guests concerning the lack of a parade, making IOA less favorable overall.

they cant fit that many people in IOA. if they said 35,000, that's more reasonable. and i doubt it'll be at both parks next year. it'd be too expensive. i can see it staying at IOA for next year, then the possibility of flip-flopping every couple of years or so.

Why should it stay at IOA? Did anyone like it better at IOA than at the Studios? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed HHN at IOA but the Studios are a superior option. Universal must realize this.

By the way I was at HHN on Saturday the 26th and although it was excessively crowded I was still able to enjoy myself. There was a "SOLD OUT" sign hanging even as I entereed the park around 7:15 pm so whatever capacity, I assume they hit it on the 26th.

The one thing I noticed was that with so many rides open I was able to find something to do. I also found the crowd to be somewhat better behaved than last year. Mnay of the people I talked to there missed the parade from years past. Personally, I missed the defined scare zones most.

Yes, unfortunately the Sentinel "reporter" Robert Johnson, doesn't get his facts straight before writing his "story". It would be impossible to put 45K in that park for HHN. I wonder who he got his info from, the street sweepers? If mgmt. won't give those numbers to the paper, why would they share them a $6.65/hour employee?

Jelly-Beans, I'm glad you were able to have a good time on the 26th. If it was sold out that night, I'm sure you fought a good crowd.

I heard that Busch Gardens had around 17,000 to 20,000 people during Howl-O-Scream's first two nights and they considered that capacity. I would assume IOA's is close to that, but I'm not sure.

I heard it might be at both parks next year with and 2 park HHN ticket being $70 and a one park being regular HHN price.
I think it would be cool at both parks, but expensive tickets. Maybe they could even double the amount of houses.

The two park idea is a good one but I think unlikely. If it has to be one park I hope it returns to the Studios.

Mr. Carni:

There was an enormous crowd but it was relatively well behaved and with all the attractions open I had plenty to keep me busy. I never once felt overwhelmed.

As a side note I was fortunate enough this year to be in LA on business in mid October. I extended my stay to include a night at a theme park near Disney called Knotts Berry Farm. They have there own version of HHN called Knotts Scary Farm Halloween Haunt. There were 11 Haunted mazes/houses and many cool rides open plus at least 4 shows and three scare zones. It sounded great and indeed was for the first couple of hours but by 9 or 9:30 the crowd became unbearable. Lines for all the decent attractions were in the hours! I had trouble just walking around the park as there were thousands of tipsy teenagers everywhere you looked. So I left before 10 pm, I just couldn't take it anymore. I think this helped me survive HHN that night. Congrats to Universal this year for maintaining control of the crowds, at least when I attended.

I've heard of the event at Knott's. I live in Las Vegas and wanted to go this year, but never made it. Thanks for the run down...I will make it next year!
