HHN and Mears transport

My brother wants to head over from WDW to Universal for a HHN in Oct. The rest of us aren't really into the whole scare thing so we aren't going. Does anyone go solo and is it still fun? Or, maybe fun is not the right word! LOL I am trying to find the cheapest option for him to get there and back. Has anyone used Mears transport for this? Do they even run that late at night? He was also thinking of going to Universal with the rest of us one day and then staying for HHN and catching a cab back at the end of the night. Thoughts on this?

Going with you for the day and taking a cab back would be the best option. I don't know if Mears runs that late...I imagine they do but I can't confirm. Lots of us go to HHN so depending on the date, he might be able to catch up to some of us and hang out. HHN is a lot of fun solo or with people. I go solo most of the time and I still enjoy myself.

i go solo every year for hhn and enjoy my time at the evening event.

i do solo nights at hhn for about 2 of the 5 dates i attend.



i find homies on the darkside threads to spend time with on the other night.



i used to make a thread when the hhn dates are announced and would list the homies in date order.

then i would send them a pm and ask if they wanted to do a meet up.
i have made wonderful friendships over the years by doing that.


the past two years Donaldduck52 has been doing that thread.

i'm in orlando for 17 days and he is local.
it is much easier for him to update new posts when homies state when they plan to be at hhn.


last year mears did offer the late night return shuttle from the darkside back to the motherland resorts.

one company had offered tickets and rides with their deal.


taking a cab back a 2:00 in the morning is ok.
sometimes you can find others using a cab that you can share with.
depending on the hotel you will be dropped off, can determine the amount of the ride.

from dtd to uo by cab is about $30-5 one way.
the hotels in AK do cost a bit more.

if brother wants to stay in the park for hhn once the park closes, it will be fine, really.
he will go to the holding section to wait for the event to begin.

if he goes on a night i will be there, he can tag with me.

I'll be there one night in late September, but I'll be doing the fast pass thing...

Going solo is no issue. Just be prepared for lines. Long, long lines. Especially as Halloween gets closer.
