I'm guessing the answer to this is no but ... if you're an on-site guess (not including Cabana Bay) is your on-site Express Pass valid during HHN for the houses?

DH and DS are going this year for the first time are really looking forward to it. Now me, I watched some YouTube videos from previous years and yeah, I'm too chicken. The costuming and the theming both look absolutley incredible but I just don't care to be scared.

Hotel EP is not valid for HHN.

Have to buy a seperate one.

if you are staying on site at one of the 3 deluxe hotels during the hard ticket HHN event, it is posted in your check in packet, in the hotel lobby and in your room that the day park ep's are not valid for HHN.

Thanks! I'll make sure to buy them each one then. They're planning on going during the week so in theory it should be less busy but we're used to having that benefit since we always stay on-site.

last year wednesday, 15, was not crowded for me at hhn.
since i bought the pass for the non peak nights with express, i did use it but it wasn't needed at all.

They're planning on going Wednesday, October 21st, if it's scheduled for that night. I'd like to think they wouldn't need it and be able to save a few dollars, that'd be great!

that could be hell week.
if so, ep could be beneficial.

school breaks/days off will be known later this summer

I was worried about that being a bad week. Ideally I would have liked to have scheduled vacation for the week prior but that just didn't work out.

are we talking about going to hhn or just going to the parks on that date?
i've been answering thinking it was hhn the two were going to.

No, you're right. I made it confusing. The three of us will be down for a week, in that time I'm going to the parks on Mon - Wed during the day while they go off and do other things. On that Wed evening they are going to HNN and I'll find something else to do, since I'm a chicken.

ok, i didn't want to give out poor information.

the parks should be fine.
don't buy the ep until you are in the park.
you might not need them so wait until you are there.

you will get the early entry as you are staying at Cbay.
you can use the single rider lines for the rides that have them.
that will shorten wait stays for those rides.

i think you should be fine that way.

hhn could be busy depending if it is hell week and kids are out of school.
nothing will be known this far out though.

i check school districts to see when they have their conference days in order to get an idea of if it would increase the part attendances.

maybe you and your spouse could do a late dinner at city walk on that wednesday night and have you son try hhn by himself.
don't know his age but i do see a lot of older teens or young adults go solo for hhn on some nights.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. :)

Our son is 15 so he could do HHN but my husband wants to go too. I don't mind being on my own. When it comes to theme / amusement parks, we don't like the same things or have the same touring style and that made our trip last year was a disaster of near epic proportions. Seriously. That's why they're aren't going with me to the parks during the day.

Last trip (Nov / Dec 2014) we had 3 park days planned and they both commented on day one, just after lunch, that they were bored. I don't think it helped any that I beat both of them on MiB every time we rode it. I don't even think I'm that good but it didn't set well with them that a girl beat them.

they'll have fun together at hhn.

why don't you go to city walk and have a relaxed meal at one of the places there?

might be fun.

Mr Mac stays home when i do my 18 days in orlando each fall.
he hates florida and i don't.

we both are happy and it keeps our marriage intact as i won't give up my solo trips.
and i don't join him on his back packing sleeping on the ground trips.

::yes::

18 solo days each fall? I'm jealous!

I'm getting 7 solo days for the first time ever though, they're leaving at the end of that week and I'm staying, by myself, for one extra week. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.

My husband has always insisted that we all vacation together or we don't vacation. That's led to increasingly awful vacations over the last 18 years with last year's Florida trip being the straw that broke the camel's back. It truly was awful. It was only within the last month that I was able to convince him that separate vacations didn't mean you were headed for divorce and in some cases, it can be good for the marriage (and my sanity). Like in your case, you're each getting to have experiences that you truly enjoy. Everybody ends up happy.

I was thinking of Margaritaville solo. We had lunch there last year and it turns out, they neither one like Jimmy Buffett. At all. Not the food, not the atmosphere, and not the music. I, on the other hand, do enjoy his music and the atmosphere of the restaurant.

we do one major vacation together a year, our civil war round table tours.
something we both love.

and do a few simple 3 day stay by car trip to surounding areas that we both can enjoy together.

once my boys were mid teens, i stopped doing the camping trips with them.
i got tired of the no showering, eating over a campfire, and the "you mean there are no toilets out here in the woods"........

took the boys to stay at disney and universal as they were growing up and it was a full week stays for that.
have done quite a few trips with one son at a time after that.

we both enjoy trips together and love our solo trips that we do.

end of the month he goes to new zealand for 11 days on a tour of walking all day on the trails and then sleeping on the ground in a bag.
i totally told him that it's a solo trip for him and not a couple trip ......my idea of a vacation is not getting up at the crack of dawn and to bed at sundown.

this works for us.
it keeps our marriage strong as we encourage each other to do something for ourselves once a year.

margaritaville has a varied menu.
i've not had a bad meal there.
when i eat solo there, no one notices as it is a very lively loud entertaining place.
you'll enjoy it.

i'll be leaving on the 16th or else i would love to join you at margaritaville!

Maybe you can get a table outside on the deck at Margaritaville, that way you can people watch on CityWalk.

Will be at Universal for 2 nights, Oct 10-12 (Sat-Mon), staying at RPH. Looks like HHN is running both nights. Assuming if we choose not to do HHN both parks close early and we'll have to find other plans for both evenings?

i haven't read anything about including parts of ioa for hhn this year.
where did you find that information?

they haven't done that in about 10 years now.

past years with hhn at the studios, the park closes at 5 on the nights of hhn.
ioa usually stays open to 7, maybe 8 on a few select nights.

monday both parks go back to normal park hours.

I had just assumed both parks were involved in HHN, thanks for clarifying.

Based on Wikipedia, in 2004, HHN was in both parks. In 2002 and 2003, 2005 is was exclusively in IOA. So, out of 24 years, only 1 of them involved both parks. That doesn't mean they won't do 2 parks again in the future.
