I know this isn't much news but I thought I would post anyway.....
I received an e-mail today asking me to complete a survey about my experience at last year's HHN. At the end, this tease popped up:

It's Not Too Early to Start Panicking
About Halloween Horror Nights
Plans are being made. Blades are being sharpened. Body parts are being stitched together. Halloween Horror Nights 2007 promises to be the greatest exhibition of pure terror ever unleashed at Universal Orlando Resort.
• For the first time ever you'll come face to face with some of the biggest names in horror
• More haunted houses than ever before
• Two all new live shows
• A hilarious new Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure
• Our most immersive Halloween Horror Nights with all new frights and entertainment everywhere you turn.
So make plans to attend this year's Halloween Horror Nights. You may never want to leave...in fact, you may never get the chance.

Again, I know it's not much but wanted to share!

I received the email and filled out the survey as well. I can't wait for October!

Hmmm. I'm considering scratching the summer trip and doing HHN afterall. That sounds like it could be promising.

I too got the same survey. Did you guys get to the proposed pricing? Here's what they gave me:

Proposed pricing structure for 2007

Non-FL resident full price: $59.95 pp
FL resident: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: $32.95 pp
FL resident Friday: $37.95 pp
FL resident Saturday: $49.95 pp

Sunday express pass: $35 pp.

The price of the event is reasonable, it's the express passes that cost more than the entrance tickets.

They need to figure out a way to handle the large crowds if they're going to let 20K people thru the gate. I wish they'd set it up like they did a few years ago where the entrances of the soundstage houses were not in the parks, but next to the buildings. That way they can let the stay and scream people go thru those houses early. They way they had it set up last year, they had to completely clear USF before starting the event. That was a waste of time to exit the first house, then walk all the way thru the boneyard, only to come back to the soundstage. What were they thinking?

i spent 30 minutes on my survey.

well, it asked what we wanted and our opinions so i shared with them.

robvia is so right.
crowd control will always be an issue but there are ways to work around it.

about that pricing, i'm sure the discounted ap will help reduce some costs on the hhn tix.

makes me wonder if i should go the vip route for a saturday if no discounted ep this year. heck, the tour would only be $60 more then and a guarentee fotl. it might be worth it for me to do that on a saturday and just do the ep for the sunday and friday nights.

no matter what the costs will be this year, i will be there for the 2nd weekend
it's people like me that pay those high prices that keep those tickets high....

i am so totally and completely addicted to hhn............and csw

FL resident Friday: $37.95 pp
FL resident Saturday: $49.95 pp

Sunday express pass: $35 pp.

i copied the section of the survey for pricing and was shown:
non fl resident prices: $64.95 pp

fl residents:
sun-thur $39.95 pp
sat $52.95 pp
Fri $39.95 pp

ep: $60.00 pp

when i went back to that survey a few minutes ago to make sure i had the numbers correct, i see on my survey they changed to:
su -th $38.95 fl res. w/ ep = 73.95
sat $57.95...w/ ep = 127.95
fri $44.95 ...w/ ep =104.95
these figures reflect fl res.

now, if i go back to that survey tonight, wonder if those figures will change again...

Hmmm, I'm going to try again too, and see what they say for pricing.

I told them we would be interested in a Frequent Fear pass for non-peak nights and VIP tours. And, I asked if AP rates would be the same as FL resident rates.

ETA: OK, I checked again, here's what it says for me now:

Non FL resident: $64.95

FL resident for Sunday - Thursday: $33.95
FL resident for Friday: $39.95
FL resident for Saturday: $52.95

Sun -Thurs express pass: $35
Friday express: $60
Sat express: $70

They are probably trying to figure out what the market will bear. I told them as an AP holder, I was more interested in AP rates since I'm not a FL resident.

very interesting.

the prices you list now are increased from what you originally were shown on the survey.

i think i will do it a third time later tonight and see if they rise again.
the prices i received were higher than yours.

and, they were listed for fl residents.

do you think that with each submitted survey, the prices are adjusted?
maybe to give them more input on how high they can price the tix this year?

i'm a member of chain saw wolf board and just saw over there the prices that one person received on the survey is different than what alexandvanessa listed here.

if what i think will happen, my trip for hhn will be more this year than any other so far.

maybe after the survey is over and analyzed, prices will drop.
surely not everyone that completes it will say they will pay the high prices.

I think everyone would be better served to see the express pass removed for the event. Just lower the number of tickets available and raise the price during the more popular nights.

i can't see universal lowering the number of tickets that they sell for hhn.

i buy the ep every year. i only can attend 3 nights in a row and want to see as much as i can in that time period.

no matter how expensive they become, i'll be buying them.

We also recieved the survey to complete and also suggested AP discounts as we are not FL residents but have APs.

Unfortunately can't see them doing away with the EP option as it is a good money maker for them.

Took the survey as well. One interesting thing everyone is overlooking: it listed potential prices for every day of the week, not just Thursday-Sunday. Could this also be a trial balloon to see if a 7-day-a-week event is feasable?

jason, that is what the survey implied about making it better or improving it

i think it is a possible idea they are tossing around and now want to see how the public feels about it

If Universal did this the event ticket would have to be $200 + per person, per night.

I LOVE the express passes, I'm not sure I would even go if they stopped offering them. But I don't have to worry about that, since that probably isn't going to happen!

Speculation and Rumor coming in from people that work in the parks last night:
New Line Cinema has a deal with Universal, and you may see a house based on Rob Zombies Halloween. You may also see a show similar to the Arrival they did last year, and a show starring Jack...yes he will be back......again. Three icons will grace the event, one of which may be the Terra Queen. There will be 8 houses, all of which will be different...none will be duplicates of the same house as in years past. Scary Tales 3 will come back..
Again, all speculation and heresay from people at the parks...they're as bad as us when it comes to gossiping.

My first HHN was 14...so I'm relatively new at it. I have seen Jack twice though, and am already tired of him. I dont know about Roxie, though that seems like a name that was thrown around. I also never got see Scary Tales in any carnation.
I would like to see the event split up into both parks, both parks with houses scare zones and shows. This way you will have the crowds dispersed throughout two parks instead of one park, and instead of sections. Think about how large BGT is, and how they had their houses split up....we never ran into crowds as bad as we did at HHN. And at say...IOA, you could have a house in example Toon Lagoon...and make both Marvel and JP a scare zone. Have a house, unlikely in Seuss Landing or the soundstages and have POE be a scare zone. That way you have the scares coming from all directions...and where you have no scares you have a house. Make the streetmosphere like you did last year with Deadtropolis....favorite scare zone ever, that wasnt that scary. Lots of potential....

there won't be any scare houses in seuss land.
the widow won't allow anything like that.

last time hhn was in ioa, seuss land had some clowns and lame things there.
