I know there were a bunch of you at HHI this year. We were at WDW and would love to hear how HHI was so we can compare. Right now, DH is leaning towards going to HHI next year. Yeah-deep fried turkey while we watch football! So where are those trip reports-I'm waiting anxiously.

In our case, it was so darned relaxing, it would make for one VERY boring trip report! ;)

Seriously, we didn't do too many of the resort activities, because we were just enjoying having some family time. DD drove down from Charleston and we wanted to do things with her.

Highlights: *The DIS meet on Wednesday night -- always fun. We have a DIS "family" (actually several families :grouphug: ) that we see there year after year... *The Turkey Bowl on Thursday morning. *Dinner at Old Oyster Factory Saturday night -- our only meal "out" the whole weekend, except for lunch at The Sea Shack on Wednesday. Other than that, it was relaxing, shopping, DH and DS golfed, we went to Okatie to check out the lot we bought, which will (hopefully) some day be where we retire.

Lowlights: NOTHING, except the godawful drive home on Sunday and the traffic south of Atlanta. Really -- it was just great. I can't imagine spending Thanksgiving anywhere else!! :sunny:

I've never been to HH, but my boss was telling me how much he enjoyed his trip last year. Is it possible to make ressie at the 7 month window for the Thanksgiving week? It might be fun to treat my whole family.

Gee, can we "crash" the party next year? The truth is that a "boring" trip sounds like our kind of time, especially if it's at HH! And I forgot the Sea Shack-we still have that and the place with the Stuffed French Toast (can't remember the name) to try, thanks to Rachel Ray. How's the weather at that time of year. And like the previous poster, I wonder too-how hard is it to get ressies at the 7 month window? Is the resort full for the holiday?

At seven months we were waitlisted but eventually got into a two bedroom unit for Thanksgiving.
It was relaxing, but cool. Too cool for swimming and the bike ride on the beach was very brisk with a strong wind that pushed you too far along going one way and left you breathless on the return. It was good family time. The resort seemed fairly full but did not feel crowded whatsoever.
