Just counting down the days to the 7-month window so I can book HHI for New Year's. We've been to HHI for spring break the past four years, but that streak will be broken in 2011 (by a 4-day Disney Dream cruise!), and we couldn't bear the thought of going 2 whole years without a visit.

ANYWAY - the reason for my post - The thing that probably sealed the deal for us to go New Year's is that we discovered New Year's Eve is one of the few days of the year that Paula Deen's restaurant in Savannah accepts phone reservations. I know some people don't care for Lady and Sons, but we love it, and now we won't have to plan the whole day around leaving our name at the door!

Looking forward to New Year's! (We'll be the ones with the blow-up Mickey Santa and neon Mickey ears on our deck!)

We will be at HHI for NYE this year also. 2 nights 12/30 to 1/1/11 on our way back to Boston from 4 nights at OKW. Think we will stay around resort for NYE...relax get some college bowl games in. Its a nice relaxing way to regroup after touring wdw during xmas week. We probably won't hit Lady & Sons, although it has been a temptation each of our 3 trips to HHI that included Savannah. We are staying one night in Savannah after our trip to HHI June 9-12 so we might try then. Love Savannah!

Just save a studio for me please!!!! We were there for NYE last year, and :love:it so much we are making it a new tradition to be there every year!:cool1:

Hey maybe we will try NYE at HHI some year. Heck I can go to bed there at 10:00 as well as I can at home :rotfl:.

You know, that's one thing I wonder about. We also tend to be "early to bed/early to rise" even on NYE. Is it even realistic to expect that we could sleep thru all the midnite frivolity? Or is the HHI NYE "midnite frivolity" easily slept thru?

It's all at the pool area. We stayed in a studio, which is in the main building, very far away from the pool. Some of the villas near the pool probably heard the music, but that's about it.

We are also thinking of going to HH between Christmas and New Year this year. Have gone the last couple of spring breaks but went down to Disney this year and missed our trip to HH. It sounds like they have a party at the pool on NYE. Do they have other activities during the week at this time of year?

They have planned acivities all week as usual. We have been many times during that week and have enjoyed it..it can be warm in 60's or cold and 30's for weather..we have seen it all. We will be there for 12/20 to 1/1/11 this year after 4 nights at OKW.

Thanks for the information. My family loves going on all the nature walks and making the corn bread over the fire. I hope it will be in the 60's as we also like to ride bikes. I think we will try to get a reservation.
