So on our drive to WDW this year we have toyed staying at HHI on our return trip.

I have a couple of questions from those in the know.

A) How long does it take to get there from WDW - and about how far is it from I-95?

B) Is it worth it to stay only one night, a Saturday in December?

C) Do they have any special Christmas decorations or any Christmas activities?

I already checked availability and there was some.

The distance is about 300 miles, roughtly 5 1/2 hours. I'm not sure where I-95 is (DH always drives) so I don't know how far it is. There are lots of decorations around the resort, we see them putting them up when we're there over Thanksgiving. There's a tree in Big Murgie's Den-I can't believe I don't have a picture of it, but I do have a picture of the big statue over at Shelter Cove in his Christmas finest-

ONe night is OK if you've never been there. However many or few nights is better than no trip to HHI at all.

As Simba's Mom already mentioned, it's just over 5 hours from WDW to HH. Take I-95 north into South Carolina- exit 8 at Hardeesville and it's about 30 miinutes on rte 278 to the resort.

Enjoy!

We drive to wdw from Boston all the time(since we joined dvc in 1994) and have stayed at HHI as a stop many times and as a destination vacation also(we added points at HHI in 2002 to get 11 month window for summer). Xmas week is nice and alot of activities. If we going to WDW, we usually do the stay on the way back home. Its a nice relaxing stop over with great restaurants or just stay "home" and cook or do take-out. We love the resort and the island and have spend xmas/New years there 5 times...Its a nice stopover either way.
